I am a firm supporter of finding the Voyagers and then, possibly taking a UA there. The idea of using the wing to do this is smart, and what I like about this is it's using the functionality introduced in 1.2 to do it - which has been hinted all along as being all we needed.
Sorry - the Leviathan has not yet awoken for me, because of the missing things. I understand the links, though, and admit they are plausible.

Maybe the first test should be to just go very far out from a system and listen to the UA there. Does it have a max range?
When it comes to the Leviathan story, I think it depends on how you look at the Elite universe if it resonates with you or not.
The Elite universe isn't always a logical place. It's a place where politchans always lie and roumors are always true. It's also a place where 200 m long fish dissaper in to thin air and 20. Century figther planes show up in a dessert 45 ly from Sol in mint condition.
When a guy called Ishmael ships an object that looks and sounds whaley thru the California sector, I'm allready sold.
When they fill the trailer with meta hints conected to the Word Leviathan, I'm in no dougth about the conection.

No, I've not carried toxic waste in a while so it wouldn't have been me.
I see what you're thinking though, using the corrosion of the waste to rot the UA.

Nilreb can hopefully back me up on this. We tried it with a trinket in the same system as that video I posted earlier. No change, but proximity might have been poor.

If there's a shred of reality about this when all's said and done, then the possible hint from an FD QA that cropped up here a little while ago saying 'not everyone will get it' would fit perfectly.

OH YEAH!! We've heard it all now. You know the story about the one that got away? Well, listen to this one. There was this guy on new California (Liaququ), this real rich fat cat who's been chasing the local fish since Noah moved off Earth. He was on his luxury ship with all the gear and a couple of dollies to make it easier and he hooked a monster - two hundred metres of fighting fish. Then it jumped out of the water and vanished!! We've heard some fishy stories, buster, but we won't be HOOKED by this one.

Welp, we just had an inadvertent test of this. While trying to switch to the Orca for testing, rizal was trying to help hold the UA temporarily. There was an... incident. Let's just say that a Diamondback Scout moving at 15m/sec is enough to knock a UA from 89% health to 9% health & then dead. Video (no sound due to driver weirdness, but it was a normal explosion sound):

Five minutes ago I've destroyed mrTree UA while scooping it with my Scout, in the usual way I scoop every time. Thousands of canisters I've scooped. At 15 speed I was, perfectly centered it was. And it exploded.

I'll be hunting that thing to give it again to MrTree, that was SO KIND to thrust me.
I'm SORRY with all of you CMDRs.
I will not write on this thread until I've found an UA for MrTree.
Just one last question: does anybody knows if the Scout has issues while scooping with landing gear down?! I did it just to be even much slower... as I've seen that a lot of you does it like that, in your recordings...

Oh Darn! - With all the testing being done it was bound to happen eventually. Like doing stress tests on an egg.....
I'm looking forward to seeing if another turns up soon - and who finds it...of course if the Devs read this forum they may feel they should leave it for a while in case it gets too obvious...
Edit - In your grief and remorse, don't forget to note where you were (and any other info you can think of. And yes please link the video - not for gloating - just in case the explosion has any differences.
Don't think of it as a disaster - Its just another test - one that we were not brave enough to attempt. - add it to the database.

Seriously, guys, I don't think the rest of us are mad or angry, we just feel your pain! @Rizal72 - we know that the game (rather brilliantly) has different hit boxes for ships with their landing gear down, so you're probably right. You live and learn!
Poop happens - especially in space in ED; at least that explains the humanoid scream I heard coming from the bubble 6.5kly away. I thought it was a ghost on my bridge.
