Firstly, I apologise if this seems overly picky. But the last Galnet update, regarding "The Code leaves Archon Delaine's Crew..." just pushed me over the edge and I have to say something in the hopes a CM will notice and at least pass it on.
I know a lot of the Galnet stuff is fan submitted, it's a good idea and takes some of the load from FD. But can we please at least have someone thoroughly proof reading and formatting this stuff before it goes live to tens of thousands of people?
Nothing is more jarring than reading in game content, hoping to be immersed in the universe, and coming across shifting tenses and points of view, poor grammar, punctuation and so on.
Please don't think I'm a grammar (haha, this word was removed automatically by the system, you can probably guess what it was!), I don't care about the spelling/punctuation/grammar of others in social media and forum posts. But Galnet is not a social media site, it's supposed to the galaxies premier news service... right?
All of my journalistic friends know how to write rather well and their editors certainly do at the very least.
To be fair, from what I can tell, all of the material written by FD itself does seem to be good quality, which makes the fan submitted items all the more jarring and unappealing to read. I'd suggest that FD place a general disclaimer or at least an automated response to those who submit pieces for Galnet advising that their work may be edited for clarity and consistency.
I hope this doesn't draw any fire, I'm an educator at heart, sorry, it's just in my blood
