Oops - major fail!
Just realised I linked to the same thread - apologies - wasn't trolling - was actually trying to be helpful.
Will teach me to read things properly first...
Do you know where I can find a summary of the Elite lore?
Why not extend the wiki instead? I'd love to read about lore in the wiki. Who are the Federation and The Empire, and how do they differ? And the third faction - The Independents - who are they?I'm not aware of a public resource that just summarises information with estimated canonicity. [...]
I'd be happy to maintain a list of links or something if we can pull together enough information [...]

I've written hundreds of pages in a private Star Citizen database, but I don't know enough about Elite to do the same here. So it's more a call to those of you who do know about Elite.Good idea, consider yourself volunteered![]()
http://wiki.alioth.net/index.php/Category:FictionThanks, but I've already tried that for the last 3 days. Still trying, in fact. Don't find so much there. I searched for "lore" but the wiki came up with very little. Same when I searched for "factions" and the names of the three factions.
I'd love to read a condensed article about the history and factions in the eliteverse. There should be more about lore in the new elite-dangerous.wikia.com, Wookiepedia or wowwiki are good examples. I think ED needs a new wiki so people won't get confused with all the old stuff. I hope when the new frontier approved novels come out a more coherent backstory will emerge.

Fiction diary #1 discusses the factions, and the Frontier: Elite 2 Gazetteer starts with a brief history that is apparently still canon. Do they count?
It should be ok to copy this stuff into a wiki, right?
Yeah, it's a problem for those of us who want to read up about the history and lore of Elite that it's so spread around with bits and pieces everywhere. So I support the idea of gathering it all into one wiki.
