One innocent and naive question:

Is there only morse to be found within the Chittering part? Bitstorm posted that it was difficult to decode without knowing what to expect, but maybe there is something else included in the chittering part, like the destination. I don't know, I haven't listened to a lot of samples, and I'm no decoding expert. Kerrash may have used Rot13 as a hint, to force us to use other methods maybe.

the thing is we could always throw more SAP 8 at the UA and there's always another system we could take it to.

But what we don't have is a precedent or a reason to do anything.

If there is a hint it's so obscure that one could argue the mystery was designed not to be solved before the dev's reveal.

Exactly, it's probably obvious once you know the answer but at the moment, it's not haha.

EDIT: I've just read Tallsword's post and I think he's right! Get a lot of Sap8 around a UA and let's see what happens!

hey rat king, give it a shot!

you may want to remove the / though, as far as i know thats not how you type out morse. they just use a space.

Did we try 12? I mean with proper distances... It has 12 things on it, maybe they need to be slightly aligned? 3x4?

Hey Im having trouble finding the Musical Notes people were coming up with associated with the sounds .... figured Id look at that for a bit ... Does anyone know where that is ? Getting lost in the thread ...

The Leviathan by Thomas Hobbes outlines the concept of social contract, that is to give away one's powers in order to achieve governance through an external entity which was to rule absolutely over the population. The obvious downside (hence the title) is that by surrendering one's freedoms you are obviously contributing to the creation of a power/state/government that if left uncheck will intrude into every aspect of society and life (sounds a bit like powerplay).

Another interesting parallel I'd say given all the political scurrying that the galaxy is witnessing.

The earth Leviathan is a mythological beast that is described in several old stories. Among them the Bible. It has serveral parallel creatures like the Cetus, the Asp Turtle or Kraken that serve the same pourpose in stories.

The Elite Leviathan is an up to 200 meter long fish (not whale) that used to live on New California in the Liaququ system. It is also mentioned to exist on Topaz in the Ayethi System.

The strange thing is that Liaququ does no longer exist, even dough it was a significant system in the lore of both FE2 and FFE.

I don't want to come across as despondant and negative, but I might because I am.

There are some recurring themes popping up again, which need context for the newer guys:
1) Apparently, the 'clues' such as they are, are to be found in game.
1.1) Apparently it has been solvable since 1.2
2) Apparently, the answer is simple (over thinking)
3) ROT13 was a red herring wild code chase from over a month ago, Kerrash just used that in his last clue. Neither of the people who have used that code work for FD
4) The wiki will remain incomplete if you dont bother to edit it, and a glance through it should give you an idea at the number of person hours spent on this mystery. So it had better be good. For me this game is drinking in the Last Chance Saloon.
5) There's no tangible link or clue to the UA to any of the stories in Galnet. There just isn't. There's one Galnet post which mentions it directly, but may or may not be useful https://community.elitedangerous.com/galnet/28-MAY-3301
6) Its almost impossible to find one, and if you find one, its almost impossible to get it. Treat those Commanders who have obtained one (or more) as folk heroes. Write songs and poetry about them. Don't ask them to destroy their prize.
7) Lining up jettisoned canisters is basically impossible, the best you can hope for is a cloud.
8) All of this could be misleading because the only real clue from FD that we have had is 'Have you listened to them?'. They've been busy with other things.

There is the Galnet post - on or around April 18th, now removed - which hinted at illegal technology being shipped in wings around the Old Worlds, speculating that it may be alien bio-tech or weaponry or hostile AI. I don't know why that message was removed, but that was the one that got me searching.

Why remove part of the voyager message?

Just play the whole message.

The message "Per aspera ad astra" Translates to "Through hardships to the stars"

Just a short question, I'm assuming people have tried blasting them with several weapons, but has anyone tried a mining laser on them, to gently ease them apart?

That's it I'm calling it! (#3765)

Gamescom announcement.... Dark Systems! Liaququ is one of them!

I wondered if dark systems were in or not as the book 'and here the wheel' said about dark systems a lot..........also guys again I must ask but what do we have to say that the UA isn't some kind of beacon or maybe computer core?

This has probably been investigated already but has anyone seen these missions? Whatever the UA is for, i think it's safe to assume it has some cartographic use wtih the morse code.

Seen on Wikia. They seem to suggest the SAP8 containers might be some sort of map. Since there's an interaction between the SAP8 and the UA, maybe the SAP8 is where we'd need to start.

I'm a really late comer to this, but tonight I'll try and get my hands on some SAP8s, then try to go to this station.

Question - has anyone checked their galaxy map while holding either a UA or a SAP8? (or hell, maybe both?) I wonder if it might not silently add/modify the star systems.

The more I listen to it, the more I think the background noise during the chittering means something...

Yes, it means something useless.
But you are welcome to find your meaning as well ;)

VID 8 or HIB 8 so far.

Oooh okay, makes sense. What about the purrs, has anyone tried to decode those?

Not at all! Purrs? What purrs? No one tried, we've been here for 3 months singing songs and talking whale! :D

It could be that the sounds be emitted by the UAs' are calls to find other UAs with whom they can communicate, and understand their sounds/language. It is clear that we have not yet understood these sounds and have been unable to decode their messages. As I have previously said, IMHO they are living beings with some hidden functionality and at the moment are locked and in defensive mode. It would be interesting to try and get two UAs' and pair them together, and watch their behaviour, see if they communicate with each other? It might be a way of making the UA open up and unlock.

Interesting idea, but why computer core? Is there any evidence supporting that? And what would be the purpose if so?

--Edit--

Has no one tried bringing two UAs together yet?
