So many suggestions that end in destruction.

You mean 2 hours right? ;)

I can do 1000ly in 40 mins with a conda full of amfu... but that's getting desperate haha

Just curious, do you do that with additional fuel tanks fitted?

For me, constantly refuelling is what kills my time. In my asp with an extra 64t fuel tank fitted and a =~ 30LY jump range, getting out at least 600LY is a breeze.

The conda can do 40ly per jump compared to the asps 35ish ly. Also, that 7a fuel scoop is a dream.

What are you folks doing?!?
I can get 2200ly/hr going flat out in my 32ly Asp. Granted there would have to be stops to check on the cargo hatch, FSD, thrusters and fuelling, but it still wouldn't take much longer than 30 minutes to slam over to the edge of Regor sector.
If you ever need a target inside Regor Sector, search for Gamma Velorum, because that star IS Regor.

Slim pickings in Timocani this evening. Bitstorm, myself and a couple of others were UA hunting in Mobius and didn't get anywhere.

Well, in my case, staying flexible. That Asp I linked later is definitely not kitted for long-distance travel, but it is kitted to do quite a lot of things, even very light skirmishing (that 3A shield generator doesn't get you far). FWIW, I don't think I ever put a figure on how long it takes me to get that 600-800-odd LY range that I can get out the 96t fuel tank, but IIRC around 15m is how long it takes.

When I went out to Bovomit, I did it in a clipper with a 19LY jump range fit for fighting and cargo jacking "Just in case",,, I don't like doing optimal :)

How far is it to the edge of Regor from roughly Sol again? It's been way too long since I've been able to play to remember...

Regor doesn't look too far,I was curious and checked Galmap.kinda near one of the dark clouds near coalsack.
Surprised as to how close it is and I've never noticed it before.
Currently too far away to be of any assistance.5000 lyrs away currently. Won't be back there for a week or so.

God I'm gonna seem like a right pedant here....

The howl separation isn't constant, it is dependent on the morse length.

(I think) Only the high purrs increase in frequency, the lows stay constant.

"The space between each purrs decrease", you might be right on this actually but some generally reliable folk have made a point of saying they've checked it and it's static. (I haven't checked)

The SAP 8 container affecting the morse, I don't think there is actually any evidence for this, some might disagree. I just see some anecdotal instances which are within the realm of RNG.

Just generally on the purrs, not sure if you know this but if two CMDRs are listening to one UA they seem to hear different purrs. I'm sure you can imagine what the repercussions of this might mean for wanting to analyse the purrs. =(

By all means check yourself tho, I have known to be wrong. =p

Pedantic is good!

It was not a summary of what is considered accepted facts, it was what i have learned from studying many recordings of the UA and now sharing with you. :)
You are right regarding the first point tho, the time between two consecutive howls (measured from the start of one to the start of the next) seems to be around 25 seconds + the chitter-duration determined by the location. Other than that, it does not change. Maybe "separation" was not a good word for this.
Regarding the SAP8, its hard to prove its not RNG because we cannot fully control the test environment. We only have clunky spaceships without arms and a hatch used to chuck out objects in a general direction hehe. :)
I still strongly believe its affecting the UA. (mainly slowing down the purrs and cancelling out some noise, the morse remains unaffected!)

I just grabbed it and have it in my hold.

What I do with it now?
Been a while since I was involved last.

congratulations!!!!!!!!

I would suggest you find a station and park up till one of the experienced players sees your post - I've never had one - but I know they don't degrade your ship when you are docked.

Well done again - must be sooooo exciting!!!!!

Oh - and write down EVERYTHING you can remember about the encounter while its fresh in your mind - I'm so jealous!!!!

I'd go back to my last suggestion of trying to do a FSD jump to another system while running 200-250% heat damage to your ship, but that said, I *really* *really* *really* don't recommend this unless you *really* *really* *really* know what you're doing. Serious. If you've just come back into the loop having not done anything with these things recently, I can't suggest enough that you don't do this, as it'll just end up as literally a hot mess.

:D

I have all the details, it was simple really, I will share when I get a moment to type if that's what you UA hunters need.

Good to know others are still looking after this mystery.

All information is good information - we have no idea what the UA is yet, so we don't know what is important and what is trivial. For all we know the Fed pilots names might be pivotal (I'd hope not but who knows...)

Sweet find. Cant wait to hear how ya got it.

Hey i got a test that doesnt take much to do at all.

No need to travel far anything like that.

Some people are thinking the UAs have something to do with missing Voyager crafts.

Now the voyagers had a MOrse code and a naval ships horn on its golden disk recording.

The message is "Per aspera ad astra" Translates to "Through hardships to the stars"

Can you in local chat type those phrases then do a discovery ship honk.

Per aspera ad astra
and
Through hardships to the stars

Copy and Paste the next lines They are the Morse Code of the first two
.--. . .-. .- ... .--. . .-. .- .- -.. .- ... - .-. .-
and
- .... .-. --- ..- --. .... .... .- .-. -.. ... .... .. .--. ... - --- - .... . ... - .- .-. ...

Make sure to do ship discovery honk after each.

Please and thankyou its simple and wont take long.

Thanks

Have we tried a UA in holds made of different types of material? I mean lightweight/reinforced/military/mirrored/reactive. Perhaps the ship/module degradation would change??????

just tested the morse in open comms theory. Im sure you can all guess the result.

As expected - Without a really clear hint as to the wording, there are just tooooo many different combinations of words and numbers to try. There is no way ED could reasonably expect us to go through every possibility - unless we've missed something obvious (which is possible)

Dammit - the confounded things just will NOT react to us.....except to explode
