It seems that the whole investigation process has stagnated into a series of recurring posts circling around the same things again and again and not getting anywhere.
Lots of talk, very little action. It also speaks volumes that no-one with a UA is prepared to try anything different for risk of losing it. I sense a growing tide of negativity in this thread because we've hit the metaphorical brick wall and have nowhere else to go.
SO... I'm going to step away from this for a while. If by some chance something happens with regard UAs, xenos and permit locked systems/regions tomorrow, then I'll come back to this.
No fresh UA directions, xenos or permits tomorrow? I'll go back to regular play.
Sorry, not sure what you want us to do exactly? The risky things I see that are left are:
* Test the misjump theories, especially involving heat/system damage? RatKing & bitstorm both covered this one/posted videos here. If there was a problem with their methodology, point it out please. Otherwise, it's a dead end.
* Sell it at a random black market because a docking computer killed someone? The docking computer bugs out sometimes & crashes ships. Other than the single line at the end, we have no reason to believe it isn't similar to the Nevermore/Hudson Dock stories; why not use GalNet to give your game bugs a little lore? And nothing about that article gives any reason to sell what so far amounts to a piece of cargo.
* Let it die? Sure, I'd do it, if for no other reason than to finally stop everyone from asking it. Speaking of things that are repetitiously said over & over in the thread... Except I don't have the rig to record it in 1080p & I have no one (with a good rig) to wing up with to give it a proper recording. So it'd be a waste & everyone would grump about not having a good enough recording to analyze.
Am I missing something? The only other untested thing from the wiki is reproducing the convoy & I'm not in a position to be able to test that.
