Finally an update that I would use. Looks good so cautiously optimistic about the expansion but still as pessimistic as ever about the core game getting any love. :)

I'm sorry, but this is too annoying. I paid 50 euro's for an incomplete game at release, which is still incomplete, by most standards. And now, you ask us to pay another 50 euros, for the benefit of getting future updates of the second season? No! I knew there was something suspicions when at every update you put emphasis on the "free" update, like we should be thankful that we got fixes. This simply looks like pure greed. Every year, another 50 euros please, is that what awaits us?

This is very disappointing :(

The question for everyone who is going to raise this going forward is, expansions were planned from the Kickstarter - how did you not know about it?

It's completely optional. If it's not worth it to you don't pay. Frontier are still continuing to build the base game.

How do you expect them to continue to fund development? How far do you think the retail price you paid goes? Were you paying for the game when you bought it or a game you thought they were making going forward? How do you expect PC developers to fund ambitious titles? Publisher model only? Raise enough money from crowd funding to work for five years then get you a game? Work on franchise sequals? Do you think that would have been more appropriate?

Can anybody confirm, the beta for horizons is just the same as ED original Beta right? I.e more expensive, but earlier access to it and also we get the full thing on release?

Frontier, take my money now!!! Oh wait, you just have as I've ordered Elite: Dangerous Horizons Beta :D:D:D.

Squeeeeeee....

1.) It's "incomplete" in your opinion. Other people's opinion may differ from yours.
2.) You paid €50 for the game and are moaning about paying €50 for an expansion? I have no sympathy for you there. I "paid" £200 for this game, others I know paid a lot lot more than me. If you don't want the expansion, that's OK, it's your choice, but please don't come on here and moan about it being expensive.

Well, it IS expensive. I don't care how much you have to burn, not everybody can afford to pay that much for a single game, especially since its not complete yet. And don't tell me its incomplete in my opinion, like I'm the only one. Just look at the forums any day, and you will see plenty of legitimate complaints and requests.

Personally I think it's a little bit early for landings. IMHO the main game lacks a lot of things more important than this...

As far as I'm concerned planetary landings ARE the game, and we had to do without this part for way too long. Nothing is more important than this! Hopefully the Earthlike landings and the ability to enter the atmosphere of gas giants will follow soon.

Looks great!

There's no need to buy the expansion. The core game will still be playable, and you will be sharing the same world as the ones with the expansion - just not able to land on planets.

Also, the core game will continue to be developed, and those developments will always be free. It's only the expansions which cost money.

I'm perfectly fine paying 50 EUR a year if the expansions are as great as this promises to be. YMMV.
