If it's crafting items that're already in the game then why not. Something else though, once you've crafted an item what do you do with it? If you're not gonna stick it on your ship then you gotta sell it. Means a more active marketplace... and possibly inter-player trading.

So what is the outage for in 35 minutes.
My understanding of Holiday 2015 is Octoberfest and hiking in the alps.
I think the horizons expansion is due to be released next Christmas, though I could be wrong.
You will not get the expansion any earlier if you buy today versus next week. Wait for FD to get their ducks in a row.
Seems fair enough to me. Those that paid for the pledge for the lifetime pass on the kickstarter had no guarantee that they would get anything above the base game. A hefty discount for that seems fair to me.
Crafting is one of those 'over my dead body red lines' from FD, a bit like CQC was. Whatever it is, it will be taking us further from the kickstarter vision.

It'll definitely cover the expansion (that's exactly what it was for, after all). I'm waiting for confirmation that it'll also cover unlocking the Cobra Mk 4.

This rush is a sign of greed in my view. How many companies release massive expansions so soon? Not many, and I've played over 1000 games to know. The order usually is: release, bugfixes, after some time some small DLC releases, then after a longer time, an expansion. Look at GW2, its release was in 2012, and the expansion comes out in 2015. Yearly releases are for greedy companies, like EA.

Of course I am not forced, but also I am not able. I already paid 50 for the base game a couple of months ago, and now 50 again? Too much, especially considering the fact that they didn't update the base game as much as they promised. Maybe they will do that for another 50 euro expansion. This company is disappointing me more and more
You know, Even as a die hard fanboy i do feel for you, it is more expensive than i thought (when I bought a kickstarter version which came with lifetime expansions, the value i added to the DLC was roughtly £15 for each one, so coming in at double that was a surprise. and I bet if most people were honest, they were surprised at £30 as well for a single one)
but
1) I have not seen anywhere that this means an end to updates to the core game, I am still hoping for more free content patches - please let me know if this is not the case and 1.4 is the last
2) like it or not, unlike BF4 and COD which get £60+ releases every 12 months for game and season pass, Frontier do not get that luxury so i suppose if we want a 5 - 10 year supported experience, but without motnhly subs, this must be what they have worked out to make it a viable model.

I admit it, i haven't played in a weeks because i saw most and am not the type for the "grind for anaconda".
This however is EXACTLY what i like and hoped for. I am so happy i bought the expansion pass. I am looking forward to investing countless more hours into this great game.

So Elite: Dangerous has an expansion called Elite Dangerous: Horizons?
Does anyone else take issue with the punctuation placement here?

Shouldn't it be called Elite: Horizons? Or Elite: Dangerous Horizons? Will the passenger expansion be called Elite Dangerous Horizons: Passengers? Then walking around expansion will come out, called Elite Dangerous Horizons Passengers: Walking Around.
