Probably carrying a UA or something. =p

Collosal announcements all over the place! ... ;-)
Especial the price for "Horizons". :D

The Emporer is dead. Hail the new Emporer!

A new mystery for me: "A New Season Of Expansions Starting Holiday 2015, £39.99!"
Can someone please guide "non UK" humans what "Starting Holiday 2015" exact mean? Christmas season?
Thanks ...

It's not a British thing we don't use such terminology.

So I presume it's an Americanism so whatever they mean by "holiday", I have no idea either. Why not just say a specific month, or quarter? =(

I just bought the lifetime. Of course in hindsight I should have done it in Kickstarter, but at that time I weighed it all up and decided no because of the risk. Pretty sure I'll be having all expansions anyway so it works out. :)

I assume it'll be released around 15th December like the original game. And then around Dec 2016 we'll get the next expansion (probably FPS mode).

Why not just say a month? =(

Because then if they have to change it there will be outrage on the forums and people will start demanding refunds. We've trained them to be vague.

Still off topic but £120....... Can't see me being unharmed.... Unless could someone suggest to Frontier that the purchase comes up on the credit card statement as er..... "Shoes" or "coat"?

Well, if "Season 2" is anything like "Season 1", I'll wait until "Season 3" to get it after they fix at least some of the game-breaking bugs. Plus I think I will wait until we see whether planetary landing is just a loading screen... and if they fix missions, BGS, etc. etc.

And something to listen to while you admire the above masterpiece. :)

Don't... I lost mine. =(

Doing some pretty extreme (and arguably stupid) forced module failure jump testing inside a star's corona. I am back on the hunt.

I expect it'll be shallower and more repetitive than I'd ideally like, but it'll be good enough that I'll play it anyway.

As far as game-breaking bugs go, how game-breaking can they be if we've been engaged with the game for nearly eight months (over ten months in my case)? There have been a whole lot of really great, highly polished games that haven't held my attention that long.

I am the worst person ever ): i had no idea. i shall redact my previous post.

Heh you are! :)

No don't worry, I'm over it, still kicking myself though, but *** happens and it is all in the name of scientific discovery I suppose.

That's my point actually - they aren't (usually) game breaking now (eight or ten months later). They were at launch and with various patches every time they rushed something out. Now it is more things that are just missing, or are "solid" to FD but not for some, like exploration, that still need work, or the broken BGS. But keep on layering more stuff on top, I'm sure nothing else will break along the way... ;-)

Nice PS work! Out of rep.

To be honest I can't think of a single game breaking bug I've experienced (post release). I know there were people with major connection problems though.

The game was obviously released before it was ready. I blame that on the funding model: the combination of Kickstarter plus FD going IPO with ED as the major upcoming release. The release had already been pushed back from the original target and with shareholders expecting a release before the end on 2014 it really couldn't be pushed back any further. "We'll release it when it's ready" is not something a developer the size of FD can say.

I hope you see the disconnect in complaining that stuff was missing and also complaining that adding stuff will break things. You can't really have it both ways at this point. Personally, like you, I'd like them to focus on fleshing out stuff like mining, and exploration (heaps of potential for both of those with Horizons), and do more work on the details of the BGS and missions, and more mysteries and story-telling. But I recognise that new platforms and features like powerplay and CQC broaden the appeal and drive sales and that's what FD need to prioritise. We can only hope that the stuff we want gradually gets done along the way. Unless you have a friend that can throw a few million dollars at FD to get them to do the stuff we want?

This is actually the downside of ED not being a subscription game. With subscriptions it's far more important to keep existing customers happy, but with a single-sale release it's more important to make new sales than to retain existing customers.

I'm not complaining, I simply stated that I am going to wait until months after the release of "Season 2" before I commit any more money to FD, and see if ithe Planetary Landings module is stable by then and worth getting or not. Everything else I said since then was in response to your comments, hardly a complaint, simply stating an opinion. Our opinions can differ, clearly.

Edit: Plus, just to be clear, I am not complaining that they need to add new content, and then complaining that adding new content breaks things. I am saying they should fix the existing content and implement it the way it was originally envisaged in the DDA, before they add other major new content, which will bring additional bugs with it, if previous patches, "betas" and release cycles are any experience to go by.

Also I have just read that it's £10? If you pre-order as an existing account holder?.....I hope that's right anyway, because £40 for an expansion is a non starter!

Scratch that its £10 OFF £30 is a bit steep to be driving round in bloody dune buggy!
