Also I have just read that it's £10? If you pre-order as an existing account holder?.....I hope that's right anyway, because £40 for an expansion is a non starter!

10 quid off for existing players, in honour of the dead emperor. Ninja'd by Derthek.

But hey, you get a Cobra Mk IV.

I also enjoy how they don't specify what the other major features are that will be released for this "Season", but expect us to cough the money up for these unnamed additions, up front, sight unseen. They don't even say whether atmospheric planetary landings will be included in this expansion, or if that will be yet another paid expansion. Actually, going to go put that on the "Ask David" thread, not that I expect to get an answer to it based on past experience.

Scratch that its £10 OFF £30 is a bit steep to be driving round in bloody dune buggy!

I think you can expect similar going forward, Frontier seem to like to "push the envelope" on prices.

£10 for a bloomin' skin? TEN POUNDS?

Yeah I went and looked and corrected my post......I think it's £5-£10 too much. As Clavain says, what on earth are we paying for LOL

Biscuit Barrel Gubbins
Sunday 9th August - 1700hrs BST - Mobius - Timocani - 4+hrs

To help with the Bloody Wednesday celebrations across the forums, I've remembered to work up the test proposals for the disbursement of a UA acquired from a success on Sunday. (I may've been a little tetchy in some recent posts here but it's all still valid stuff that would appear to still warrant doing.)
I am in the throes of putting together the wally-texty (spoilerised to avoid excessive scroll-ache) inclusive test draft proposal for the Biscuit Barrel UA. It is to culminate in the Expiration test. The preliminary quick-fire short test inclusions and the option of the Heavy Metal Moshpit test (the one with the heavy ships slaving drives around UA travel a la the UA Convoys) are coming along nicely. But I'm having a bit of a pain with the all-important finale, the Expiration test.

Could those commanders who have input into this test or have otherwise considered test parameters please PM me with those thoughts. I'm hoping to have this done by around 7pm GMT so that it can be up and available for comment, changes, improvements, removals, etc by a time comfortably read by all. Regarding the Expiration test, which is to be proposed along the lines of the Gun Your Engines And Hope The Spores Magically Take You Into A Catastrophic Hyperspatial Failure (Or Something) test I shall incorporate all those forwarded elements which are essential, include some which are prudent and generally bring as much together under a single working umbrella as possible. Thanks.

PS - No, I still don't have any personal expectation that such a test will yield much but it does seem to have been the consensus that it needs to be done, so, working on the assumption of a success on Sunday...

If they come out and say it will eventually include atmospheric planetary landings, and better missions, it _might_ be worth it. I am certainly going to bide my time and wait I think and see how it goes down. If it is like planetary exploration in Mass Effect 1 or 2, for example, well, I don't think that is worth that sort of coin, particularly if there is nothing but more procedurally-generated missions to support it.

Additional to the answers from the other CMDR's:

Lifetime Expansion pass (now only 130GBP!!! :D):
https://www.frontierstore.net/games/elite-dangerous-cat/elite-dangerous-horizons-lifetime-expansion-pass.html/

Collosale prices!

My cheapest all inclusive package: 20GBP Kickstarter (24EUR at this time) + later 40 US$ (37,84 EUR at this time) (all!) Lifetime Expansions = 62 Euro!
Not to show how clever it was but to show what Frontier makes here!
Founding Member package was 150+15GBP.

We salute you!

P.S.: or simple a "Early bird" bargin ... ;-)

Isn't the whole point of Horizons that it will be on Earth? (And every other compatible planet.)

Phase 1 Airless worlds

AN ONGOING COMMITMENT TO GAMEPLAY
Elite Dangerous: Horizons introduces major content along with new features in every update, continuing to enrich the Elite Dangerous experience with new ‘open world’ activities on the surfaces of airless worlds and across the galaxy.

Right - so is Phase 2 (or 3, or 4, or x), planetary bodies with atmospheres and/or gas giants and/or water worlds etc. part of this "Season"? Or a separate paid expansion? Or never happening? Or happening 10 years from now?

Please do not assume the absence of argument constitutes consensus in favour. If I argued with every "theory" that I didn't agree with, I would not have any time for hunting, and people would feel "hurt", which is apparently not allowed.
Only the simple unaided destruction theory holds ANY water IMHO, and that I am sure will fail, but at least it has a solid reasoning behind it
