I have to new test zones for those planning to throw their UA about tonight.
Both planets are called Topaz. I like that because the Maya pebles look like Topaz jewels.

1. Topaz, Ayethi. The only known (in lore) location where the Leviathan lives, except for Liaququ.
2. Topaz, Facece. Home of the Topaz stinger. The most succesfull fish imported to Liaququ.
Drop in planet Morse zone, hope for the best.

Sunday 9th August - 1700hrs BST - Mobius - Timocani - 4+hrs
So... Assuming success... What happens to the Unknown Artefact we snag? Which of the test-unto-loss uses of the UA, to eliminate some overly long-loitering tests and theories, for which purpose Biscuit Barrel was conceived, is the one to go with?
Well, I've just been conferring with the Vega-based Moral Mathematician Professor Olaf "Crunchie" McMinus. Nice bloke. Bit too much of a liking for gin but he's got a mean boulles arm. Anyway, this is what we came up with. Having considered that...
1) the UAs are a singularly rare game feature which only a fraction of a fraction* of the playerbase are likely to see
2) that Biscuit Barrel requires multiple commanders putting themselves cooperatively to a lot of collective bother that those volunteers will yet risk no individual reward from to succeed,
3) that the clock is ticking on perhaps seeing them being removed from the game or at least 'solved' without us - "...it will unlock."
....this is the excruciatingly complex 'maths stuff' result we shoved together on a napkin:
Sell It = fun for one
Watch It Die (And Other Simultaneous Tests Which Don't Thwart This) = fun for perhaps half a dozen
This all said, commanders, I do actively welcome input. I'm aware that with all these Biscuit Barrel posts of late that I have largely spewed out walls of text like I'm being paid by the word.
There have been commanders posting their intention to join in on Sunday, which is fabulous and I hope it will be in some ways an enjoyable event in its own way for everybody joining in, but there haven't been any particular queries or suggestions. My ego would, naturally, prefer to think that this is because I've been bang on the money as far as Biscuit Barrel's purpose and support goes. But that'd be foolish.
So, please, should you feel that Watch It Die is not the way to go, post back here. We only have a couple of days to wrangle out any direction other than Watch It Die (And Stuff) and I respectfully submit that we've never been all that swift in our agreements as we have been in sheer speed of posts.
Enough said for now, though. Thanks for suffering through another waffling B-Barrel post. Hope to see you on Sunday!

I personally don't think it's the solution to the puzzle, but this destruction idea keeps coming round with some reasoned argument, and so is a test that should be carried out and either proven of value to the mystery, or not.
Other UAs have died via various mishaps, even recently with possible new ending sounds; and there will be more found.
Other commanders that choose to be bearers can hopefully keep the (to me) more satisfying and intriguing tests from all the ideas going if this proves not to be fruitful.

I do agree, however I also appreciate what those with a UA went through to get them.....its a tough call to be honest.
It may be the case that these are carried out when those that own them are prepared to give then up......needs to be a personal choice.

Hoping to be there on Sunday for Operation Biscuit Barrel. Be good to do a big ship mass mis-jump test before destroying the little ******. I think you mentioned doing that but you gave it a much better name.

Doctor Arcannon, I'm only referring to the fruits of Operation Biscuit Barrel with that post. I feel it's a great opportunity to potentially lay that idea to rest, which is why I personally approve of the initiative so wholeheartedly.
Those that find or hold their own should do as they wish, of course. And it's those tests and ideas that keep me enthralled to be honest.
I just think it's worth getting the 'let it die' theorem proven or otherwise, as was done with the sell it at Nimoy idea.

Judging by the UA mystery, I can imagine the emperors death actually has no true killer. They assassination was likely written up in order to stir the Imperial powerplayers into starting fights and flinging accusations. With no clear power to blame this will cause some much needed purpose that powerplay desperately lacks.
Just you watch, 4 months later you'll still be wondering who the killer was. They're going to leave it open ended to cause tension and build hype.

I really hope that your longer seen "Once a FED" picture to your new forum picture is not a result from testing out some pices in advance from the "Biscuit Barrel"!

Following on from the "Follow at a Distance" theory.
Have just tried following a Hafnium Convoy from a distance twice, 3.6km and 5.1km. Both times the wing jumped fully intact.
If there is method to guarantee or at least encourage the Conda escorts to get lost, there is more to it than so far recognised. Both times I had the T9 targeted, and my weapons stowed.

It does seem to keep coming up so if someone is willing to sacrifice their UA, then by all means...
But we're talking about a bunch of people sitting around a UA watching it expire, right? I don't understand how this is different from the first UA I found, when I was busy in debug camera and accidentally let it expire which a bunch of people sitting around watching. There are videos of that happening. What is this test going add to our knowledge?
