Sooo.... you're telling me that it's alive and it doesn't like to be in space, since it dies eventually. And in the meantime it cries for help, in a sort of "here I am" way, maybe even thinking "Why don't they pick me up... I thought this weird beeping was their language..."

And yet... we drop the poor things out there over and over again... Basically torturing them! :D

I don't have a list, but the systems are the FE2 systems with a few added.

Hotice is also missing. This was the system where Mycoid was made.

Hoeda is missing. This was the place they found 4000 year old alien ruins.

Most of the more mundane systems seem to have been included.

Time to put on the tinfoil hat?

Pleione 4b is missing too.

An unsettling thought but the behavior is very childlike. With the exception of a few animals (like horses who can walk within 30 minutes of birth) humans and other animals require care because if they are left to their own devices they will cry out of need, then out of panic/pain and then ultimately perish.

Another engineer who investigated Starship One was just killed in a freak shuttle collision with a Type 9. Something's up.

Correction. Witness account seems to indicate structural integrity failure prior to the collision. In other words the ship broke apart / blew up before "colliding" with the T9. Happy speculating.

Is that right?

If you're referring the the "break open only metres from" thing, I read that as the personal transport impacting the T9's shields.

Is it?
Pleione is there, but I don't have the system map.
Do you have it?

Sure. As you can see there is no 4b and that was a key area in FFE re the Thargoid missions.

I don't think the UA decays in space. I think it is something that is added to all canisters in a cargo rack that destroys it.

Go to a WSS. No cargo decay.
Scoop one and jettison it, it starts decaying.

If we found one in the wild, it would be ok for ever.

I agree. We know they play havoc with the ships that contain them (Cmdrs, and the initial convoys), and after being jettisoned / escaping they decay in space. It's more likely the act of containing or moving them (or just exposure to the ships' energy) destabilises them. Like a life-form that can't handle being held captive.

That's why when I find a UA, I'm going to keep it as a Tamagotchi and treat it real sweet.

The "I Can't Believe It's Not Biscuit Barrel!" Wing-Up bump-up
Tuesday 11th August - 1930hrs BST - Mobius - Timocani - Duration As It Happens

Maybe your wing can beat the current speed record of 90mins...

This is not another full-on Biscuit Barrel, per se. Another shall very likely be promoted soon. This is more of an ad-hoc wing-up camp-out since there's been little time to try and draw in as many commanders as possible. However, it will follow the general gist of Biscuit Barrel. If you're game, come on down. More the merrier, naturally.
I'm no authority. Autonomy is king. However, essentially as with Biscuit Barrel itself on Sunday, please ensure you are winging up with other commanders agreeing to either go all "My Precious" on the little cur, or "Here, kitty-kitty, I've a bag near a river for you..."
Assuming a success - Unless a willing former Bearer is preferred as recipient of the UA, I shall be happy to 'keep it parked' in my hold prior to passing on while a finalised expiration test and team are put together.

OMW :D was hoping this could be a monthly, fortnightly or weekly event at best! :D
