UA Mystery Thread 3: The Canonn

We should submit a Galnet article asking the Alliance for help. I think they've got a Thargoid ship haven't they? Or we should sell the UA in Alioth.

I'm getting a bit tired trying to find that UA in the Pleiades...I'm not a very lucky guy anyway. :D

German isn't a language I know, but I reckon the first two messages that appear are "Emergency stop - too close" and "Align with escape vector". What does the warning/message @ 1:10 mean?
literally translated "you are entering a restricted zone". its the body exclusion zone message in german.

Crazy theory #54357:
Having watched a UA a little while ago 'in the flesh' so to speak, what really got my attention were the blue 'bubbles' that seemed to float out of it.
Just now, when I was entering Supercruise, I saw something that reminded me of that.
So here a comparison shot of the two 'bubble' things, they were just from a couple of screengrabs but the clearest I could find. What do you all think, is there a resemblance?

Remember that we all had a conversation about those blue lights on Saturday Sigon?
We determined that the "fog" distortion causes blue ship lights on an Anaconda to appear exactly like the UA sparks, even down to the colour. The implication is that the UA blue sparks would be cyan blue points if it wasn't for the fog shifting the colour and distorting the points into multiples visually.

My question is if there has been any confirmation form the higher ups that there IS an end game to the UA hunt, and that there is something to find. Also, did the Drew Wagar stuff turn out to be more than a tro--, oops I mean fun 'fun exercise'?

If I take the case, will I get a Scooby Snack at the end?
Ed specifically mentioned on the Gamescom Twitch steam that the UAs were a puzzle to be solved, and the storyline will be evolving with Horizons.
Drew Wagar's storyline was officially concluded with the recent Galnet article about Lady Kahina disappearing. He mentioned to me in a pm that it was over once that article was published. It's been published, so the storyline is over.
That's not to say the Formidine Rift is written off. There still permit locked systems out there.

So talking to a friend tonight.
I was telling him about the UA and a few things behind it , when he brought up Iain M Banks book Excession.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Excession

I'd read the Outside Context Problem
I like to think of us lot as The Interesting Times Gang, trying to determine the appropriate response to a situation that has never been encountered before.

Does anyone feel creative enough to design a CANONN-Artefact-Hunter Paintjob for the competition?
I'd love to, but I'm away from my PC for a few more days.

Well, regardless of the object it is placed in front of (at least in all the videos I just listened to), the SOS signal is clearly there. Well, to me it seems (just saw previous post after posting this). And yes, agree that it's clear as day if you listen for it now.

Since we know the Morse code of the object changes, we should look into the 3-24kHz frequency to see if the alien chattering changes as well. I'll look into that later, if no one else does.

Cheers!

Sorry but it's NOT SOS at all, in ANY WAY.
I've discovered that background sound when nobody wanted to believe me, more than a month ago, without any third party software, because I can hear it very clearly without any aid.
I know that sound better than the palm of my hand. I've played it a thousand times with my keyboard, and dissected it whit any know audio software on earth.
I had to play it with my keyboard to let people believe me that there was morse in it.
So please don't tell me that it is saying SOS because it is simply FALSE.
Sorry.

EDIT:
It's a simple audio loop, always the same, it never changes.
If you want I can give you the original audio file taken directly from the game, as it is there.
Someone sent the file to me very later on, after my discovery, as a kind of "gift". I cannot add anything to this.
It's there if you want it. So I can say you that it never changes.

In my recent re-analysys, after the SAP 8 hype, for me it's not saying VID8/HIB8, but still nothing meaningful, unfortunately:

HRA OIE

HRI OIE

A silhouette UA one is surely possible? WE must have artists in the Canonn? =)

Been quiet today all - having run reading through, though.

I saw the time on my microwave clock was exactly 22:22 and saw it as a sign that we need a total of 44 UAs in one area of space, 2 groups of 22 in a rough left/split, all pointing to their respective other side. This would cause a fissure to open in EDs spacetime (I.e. your computer/Rift/TV screen) and a Thargoid to pull you through to the other side which, in a cruel twist of fate, would turn out to be reality, and our 'RL' proven to be no more than a simulation created by a maniacal team of devs from Cambridge, Earth, released in their year 3099.

To those feeling disenchanted with the hunt - totally understand. It's wise to take a step back, but please keep reading. You never know when you might have a moment of inspiration following on from something that anybody writes :)

Personally, getting a bunch together is my preferred option now. As a few people know, I like the 'using the morse to discover dark objects' idea a lot - but where?

There's also a massive incentive to sell them...

Gonna go try and find one. What's the best system to search in? Anyone want to wing up?

Timocani or 109 Virginis if you want to find a UA in a Convoy in SSS or HR 1185 to find them alone also in SSS

I'll have a go shame they don't have a Python template, seems to be the UA hunters ship of choice :)
edit: I sure I've seen a similar template for a python somewhere might try sneak it in ;)

Tbh, I've just recently thought about selling it when I remembered the little game with the Nvidia Titan graphics card. Selling it in a given station "activated" something on FD's part, a popup telling them "hey somebody sold it!". Maybe we have to do the same, sell it in a given station, and I thought about the Alliance 'cause they seem to have been in "good terms" with the Thargoids. So if this thing is Thargoid, they might help us, having a Thargoid ship at their disposal.

I also like the morse-to-discover-object idea (Starship One for christ's sake!!! No one cares?)

Finally, the exclusion zone of a BH may be lifted off if you carry a UA in your cargohold...

So many theories, and yet no UA for me. :'(

Hello CMDRs!

I'm still on holidays, among Tuscany 's wonderful hills, with limited internet access, but I'd like to point some few things in all this new mess of theories and new peoples in this massive thread we have:

1) NO ONE still did some effective tests with a few MASSIVE ships around the UA, very close to it, inside its cloud, to try to explain the Purrs drastic reduction. We have by now a dozen of video almost proving this, but still no real tests.
2) To Derthek that sent me a PM about SAP8 canisters around the UA that seemed to reduce the purrs: I don't think that SAP8 is the cause of that, because in all the videos with a lot of SAP8 canisters around the UA, there where a lot of ships as well. I still think that the cause of the less Purrs is the ships (mass or number) and not the SAP8.
The SAP8 was added in 1.3: in my opinion it is another different mystery than the UA. Perhaps it is related, but not directly.

MASS or number of ships or both: I thought Ratking15 was going to do it, but then he stopped.

If I've missed those test, forgive me, but I try to read all posts in this thread.

Back to my Tuscany.

i don't know if this helps or makes things worse but the idea of selling it to the alliance maybe a idea and bear with me

there is a place called golden gate in alliance space (there capital) and it is next to a plate called bifrost (another name for bi-frost is a rainbow bridge)

if we go on the idea that star trek gives us a clue. (star trek voyage home) you have the ua sound's like the probe (the traveler) and the fact that the wings trailer shows leonard nimoy station again clues to s.t with this when they steal the klingon ship it lands at golden gate park and crashes next to the golden gate bridge

try seeing if there is a mission or selling it there

just and idea

UA Bearers don't want to sell them, which is completely understandable, I don't know if I'd sell it if I had one. But yeah, after having watched a youtube video about the Alliance and their links with the Thargoids...I dunno.

im not sure if anyone has or already had made the connection that there are 7 segments that light up and there are usually 7 purrs...

maybe once we are doing what it is we are supposed to, the segments light up in steps? just saying because i was working with the image bitstorm posted above for the paint jobs

Oh look at the time, gotta run! :p

It remembers me the White Rabbit and Alice in Wonderland...

Someone should try to enter a Black Hole (the Rabbit hole?) with an UA in hold... just to be sure... :D

...not joking... everything Kerrash says should be carefully weighted ;)
