If the guild owned stations are just for fun and a place for players to socialize then its fine. What i and probably a sizable no. of players do not want is unfair advantage. Passive income, access to special equipment/abilities, able to buy "guild ships" like destroyers capital ships etc, blocking entire sectors and trade route, set their own laws and rules, essentially monopoly whereby the guild can outright grieving anyone in their sector without repercussions. Would like to avoid this. I do not want to be forced to join insanely huge guilds running a Multi Level Marketing structure. The way i see it, factions, economy are best made NPC controlled rather than player controlled. Player owned property is fine as long as it is just minor conveniences like a place to gather, place for everyone to park their ships etc. I repeat NO ADVANTAGES pls... I'm sorry to say this but if you want EVE online content then pls go play EVE online or wait for Star Citizen...

Nutshell: Som askin fah supportin social system in dis game. Mi nat talkin bout dem askin fah betta chat system. Talkin bout dem askin Frontier to add tings dat promote/support social systems - call dem guilds/coprs/gangs/clubs/armies/factions woteva. Did yuh know social systems impact play? Truth! Somtimes gud. Often nah gud. Read de papers. Feed yuh mind. Reseach out dere. Addin social systems presentin problem wid no commercially attractive solution atm.

Truth
- wi gat groups an gangs/corps/guilds/etc alredi..

Truth
- wi nah needin to encourage more wid supportin fi dem growth, in game, wid Frontier-cash-payin development time.

Big Question: How yuh gonna encourage groups/guilds/gangs/corps to be actin wid accountability an social responsibility?

Wat de solution?

Som saying, ''Dat fah Frontier to tink bout! Mi just de source of so so great ideas!''

HA!

Yuh not knowin solution. Frontier nah knowin solution - or rada, dem nah gat time or money to be testin de science.

Addin (actively supportin) social system to competitive multiplayer games be addin problems. Mi not wantin dem to spend money on addin problems. Until som scientist sayin truth how to presentin social systems in dis game dat promote social responsiblity an accountability, den any support of addin social systems be askin fah trouble.

Mi luv lotta people - mi know wat happin wen organised people + anonymity + high pressure enviroment/competitive environment be mixin togeda!

Spoiler: Nat gud!

Frontier know dis - dey usin NPC as buffer. Buffer be effort to save us fram internet negativity. Or yuh tinkin dis setup just fah fun? So much easier dan addin guild system, truth? HA!

(An dis nat even coverin de lack of finality an tings bordem be doin! Bored folks, sittin aroun, armed an reddi - wid anonymity/no accountability??! NAT GUD!!!)

Yuh nat knowin? Read som. Learn som. Drive som! :D

You're a lot of hard work to read, but I love what yer sayin' mun :)

Hey Fire70 have you caught on to the fact that it is only the same 3 or 4 people that are the naysayers to any social tools or guilds or player owned stations ETC. The same 4 people camp these threads and they are the only opposing side to the argument!

You must be new here. *checks your profile*

Ah.

You do realise there have been versions of this thread and discussions of guilds in Elite since well before you joined these forums - nay, since before the official game release on 16th December 2014?

The hint is in the title of this thread.

Most forum members opposed to your ideas have probably gotten tired of having to say the same things to new people, that's been said many times before to people like yourself?

Have a search for previous versions of this thread. You're absolutely saying nothing new, which hasn't been discussed and rejected to death, before.

Why say no to a guild option? I mean if you dont want to participate on a guild dont accept the request and keep playing by yourself. This is the same thing that ppl discuss over open or solo, "why i have to play open, i pay for solo so noone can hurt me" omg everyone cries in this game.

Shut up
Keep flying

The end.

Thing is, people have examples of what guilds can do to a game. Most prominent is of course EvE. Player-owned assets and Guild territories turned it into the static spreadsheet game that it is.

I, at least, am not saying "no" to the guild idea. We have a conversation about it, yeah? As asked. What I am saying is that it needs to be thought out. If the "bases" are static, they have to be integrated into the BGS. Would guilds like to pay a monthly fee for maintenance on the server those assets are on?

I am completely against player owned outposts or stations. There've been many games that have "unsafe" or anarchy areas and factions in them. A severely-restricted black market is the most that I'd support, along with an enemic outfitting (if at all). These are, after all, fringe areas.

I'm completely against any settlements within the Bubble. No settling down in Leesti to be the lords of the rares. Pick a place outside or on the fringes of settled space.

TL;DR The problem with guilds involves the problem with ownership of game assets. Give me suggestions for that & I will listen.

What a great idea, why hasn't anyone thought of this before - how could we have been so stupid, so naïve to overlook such a grandiose solution. How about the idea that has been suggested before: the game has Open, Solo, PVE and Guild. Then everyone is happy :D All those who can't play by themselves can have their own galaxy, you can do what you want there, have massive 32 player battles (if you can get everyone in the same instance of course). Set up your own little empires, call yourselves Gods of your own domain.

If you want to, or have to, play in a game with guilds so you can feel superior over others, find a game that has them in it. At this stage everything that FD has published has stated categorically that there will be no guilds/clans/groups/corporations - call them whatever you want.

Now you shut up and keep flying.

Bet this isn't the end ;)

And I suppose those in favour are from a varied, wide range of posters numbering in their many thousands huh?, no, didn't think so.

I actually can't see the argument you are trying to make for voting against guilds.
If it doesn't affect you in any way, why voting against it? People can always play in groups, guilds would just facilitate that.

The only way that a Guild implementation would be guaranteed not to affect players in Open (but not in Guilds) would be for a new Guilds mode to be created for those features.

Guilds and Guild Houses are an important part of MMOs and it needs to be implemented. Very surprised, as a newbie, that it is missing.

That said, immersive quests and epic quest lines are also am important part of MMOs and they are lacking.

Devs, go play GW2 for a while and see what you can do for this game.

I think your wrong. You believe those things to be important in an "mmo" but that is just your view of mmo games because you have been fed the same generic style over and over. This is a common misconception and frontier are able to see outside the box and not fall foul of the bandwagon tradition that pollutes the games industry.
