The Marketing works. You see it?
People are complaining about everything around LEP. The one says 'Its offered too short' The second 'Its too expensive' the third 'I do not know what is in there for me'
but there is big discussion ongoing and doing the marketing.
I am not affected by this as I got my LEP in beta already which was 40 GBP.
I feel lucky I did it in time.
Once the offer is gone we will see a couple of posts asking to bring it back. I am sure.
And I am confidenet there will be a similar offer next year. But now you will know the possible cost
so you can already start to save the money for it. If its not worth you can spent it elsewhere then
but finally they will catch you.

Its been on offer for what, 2 months?
If someone wants it, but can't afford it within those two months, its probably not a good idea for them to every pay the larger sum, since its probably going to hurt their budget.
Instead, it probably makes sense for them to put away a few dollars/pounds/whatever a month and buy the expansions on year by year basis.

The life time pass does not help those people who would benefit most from it. Many many people who are on a limited budget need to save up for it. Those that can afford to buy it, buy it. Basic economics you say. Yes, this is true but if you think about it - no one on a limited budget is going to try and save up £130 just in case it comes back on sale. When it comes back on sale, they try and save up.. but again it stops being sold too soon and the cycle repeats.

It was ever thus unfortunately. Poorer people use gas / electricity meters and pay more than people who can afford to fire and forget standing orders. I don't think FD can be blamed particularly, they don't have access to your bank account, to check whether you're really on a low wage etc. (I always plead poverty if trying to get a better price on something).
Seeing as it has been opened for a second time I'd like to see the expansion pass offer come up again, at the same price as this time and at the beginning of Season 3, giving people a chance to plan their finances accordingly.

Assets and liquidity are two things. Even if one is poor, thus has little assets, it's vital to have proper liquidity (mostly: save money, in some cases a bank can jump in). This is just a game, but people will incur opportunity costs with low liquidity in other areas as well.
I had second thoughts getting the initial lifetime pass- but having seen the price of the most recent one I think it was well worth it!
Well, it will have been around for over a month before the offer closes. OK, that may not be long enough for some people, but how long should a special offer be around for?

The marketing department is missing a huge opportunity by not keeping it available all year round.
Why?
Birthday presents, Christmas presents, Graduation gift plus a whole range of other reasons why people buy each other gifts. My wife was going to get me the LEP as a Christmas gift but now it might be Horizons, depends if it works and has more to do than land on a rock and drive a moon buggy.

So many ways for this game to make money that are being ignored/handled poorly it's unreal.

I remarked that some people complain that the Lifetime Expansion Pass is too expensive. These people would like to get it, but do not have enough money for the moment.
Frontier should allow a payment in 3x or 4x without charge ?

Would love it to hold for one more month, pretty sure I could convince the wife then to grab it as my birthday gift. Was unable to convince her back at Alpha had to wait til it was the last beta to get the game, which missed the lifetime pass. But no matter either way I will grab all the xpacs regardless
Sadly it's down to what the merchant PSP (Payment Service Provider) bank allows. Many of them would require a credit check first and this would then be charged to FD. Not sure who their Merchant PSP is so no idea if it's them or FD that made the choices.

I hope it will show up again at least one or two more times at expansion releases. I would've bought it now if I could (both for the expansions themselves and to support FD), but of course it was released again during the time I'm completely broke :/ No jobs available, 0 income from other sources, and I have to spare what I have left currently. Oh well... I'll be buying the expansions nonetheless, easier to afford them one at a time I guess.
What, can't afford to buy the lifetime golden ticket because you feel the need to eat this month? Well tough on you! If you really want that lifer pass, get out on the street, you can make double that amount in under an hour if you put your heart into it!

Having 130 spare doesn't make you rich (unless you are from a poor country), and there is a diference between being poor and on the poverty line. Disposable income is an issue... but i work extra jobs every week to give myself what I call "beer money", since I have a wife, kids, and 14 pets to clothe and feed (minus clothing the pets of course).
My point was, if you can't get that 130 in 2 months, then its better to think about your financial priorties, and go for the cheaper short term expense, and suffer the higher long term expense. Nope, its perhaps not fair, but business in general isn't about being fair, its about making a profit to pay your employees, expand the business, and please your investor.
Unless we change to a resource based economy rather than what we have, that's not going to change.
Oh bother and fluff it, leave it up permanently.
