currently yeah. that old newsletter just showed that small & medium and large & huge share the same caliber, but it was never implemented. All missiles and torpedoes (regardless of class) deal exactly the same damage. The only thing a bigger launcher does is increase the ammo capacity. See here for my suggestion on that: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=181602
so we only have "small" missiles, and obviously, they are not good against large targets.
more ammo wouldnt solve anything there, i mean...one missile deals around 1% angainst a lightwight anaconda...you even need around 30 or so missiles do destroy a cobra.
not to mention that a single pointdefense can take out several missiles at once (one destroyed four of my missiles over and over again)
so...more ammo would be nice to have, but it would not solve the issue that we simply need bigger ones.
also
would be overpowered, because the damage difference is not that high between the different sizes. larger ships have simply a thicker armor, so small weapons deal less damage there.Actually two C3 weapons are far better than one C4 one. Same trend for all sizes, two small hardpoints are better than one medium and so on. However fitting 2 or 3 class 2 weapons in a class 4 slot would be fine.
so the idea to fit in several small weapons into one bigger slot would be overpowered as hell...
