Hello!

Little problem with this tool..... it looks like BROKEN to me... I scanned over 50 stations... and thought I'd find the commodity loop of by me already 2 known stations... one way up 3100cr/unit, other way down only 350cr... ok, but in the tool, they don't show up on the loop trading route, not even on ONE way route.

I checked the data, and they are BOTH set in both stations, with correct prices..... now WHY it doesn't show up?!

FOUND the problem, and it's by design from this little tool..... it messes up with demand/offer :(

so it's not that usefull ;(

You can hide/unhide stations and this will reflect in the trade search result.
What I mostly do is concentrate on a certain area and hide all stations except the few in vicinity.
You could add a custom field and note, for example some region name and use that to easily filter the list but afaik that doesn't filter the trade search results (running a somewhat older version so maybe that's been improved already).

Not sure that I know what you mean... I use this tool extensively and have not seen any issues with it missing trades.

On the trading screen though - make sure that you have the filters set correctly. In the centre section of the top, ensure that all the options are selected: HS, MS, LS, HD, MD and LD. You have the option to only show supply/demand etc.. This will miss some profitable trades that you might want to see.

I generally do not care how high the demand is - as long as there is a profit in it; but then I only carry around 100 tonnes. However, for larger trading ships, you might want to filter out low supply so that you do not find that there is less for sale than you can carry.

Please just explain what the problem is - here in the thread for all to read. Screen shots would be nice too.

I've never had a problem with this app, so I am surprised by what you say.

for my problem,

station A:
ImpSlaves:
buy: 13200 cr
sell: 13000 cr
MEDIUM SUPPLY

station B:
ImpSlaves:
buy: 16200 cr
sell: 16000 cr
MEDIUM SUPPLY

Now, THIS, doesn't show up, because it messes up with the Demand/supply... as both state only SUPPLY, this route is NEVER found, unless I change the station B SUPPLY into DEMAND... only THEN it woorks... so, it's a flaw :(

Small request, is it possible at all to implemented resizable windows? Not sure on the language you use, hope it's not all using hard-coded values for GUI layout! Reason is that it's too big on my 1280x800 tablet, I need to constantly rotate and move the window in order to get to my most-used buttons.

LOOOOL, at least, you tried ^^

Jokes appart, this little 'not-well-tested-situation' is for me a reason to not use it. Can't imagine you miss trade routes just because of that.... :(

Hope the soft will get corrected soon, cause I really loved it, until, I hated it due to this awefull find, making it useless :(

The Author's wife recently had a child and I think, that and other real life are taking precedence currently. Hopefully we might see his return and continuation of this tool as it is a great add-on and would like to see it maybe improved a little more still :)

Indeed. It's a very useful little app but a way to record system positions and calculate trade route distances would be excellent. Adding a separate page for station Outfitting and Shipyards with check boxes would be more convenient than the station notes, too.

that explains the unexplainable ^^ real life :)

Well, if it's a boy, i'm sure the boy will finish his little tool in a few years :)

In the past your excellent tool, thread has been added to EDCodex. Before EDCodex was released on the 17th of August you have received in the period 5th - 10th of August a PM with an invitation and a special link. After registering and logging in you would automatically become owner of your entry. According to the admin tool(s) you haven't used the special link (yet). Perhaps you have missed the PM or have been (temporarily) away from ED. Its also possible you choose not to claim your entry. Note: Its also possible to assign another commander editing rights for your entry. In either case please send us a PM. You can find your EDCodex entry here.

Alternative way to get ownership
The special link will cease to function in the (near) future, for security reasons. Should you after that point want to become owner of your entry you can use the "Claim ownership" button. In that case please send biobob or myself a PM with the email addressed you used for registration - for verification. You can also use this procedure if you no longer have the PM.

What is EDCodex:
Its a website with a database of currently approx 215+ tools,threads,websites,videos for ED. Any one can and is encouraged to add entries there. EDCodex is and should be community-driven. EDCodex companion thread. Its equally suited for PC's, tablets and smartphones and has RSS feeds.
