First of all: Many thanks for the new update :)

I know typos and stuff like that are minor things, but what about the countless discovered typos/inconsistencies discovered by me and others since Beta 1?

Will they be considered in one of the next Pre-Final-Updates too?

Many thanks in advance for everything

There's still a long way to go before Final release in my opinion. Countless bugs introduced in 1.4 :-(
I'm happy to be part of the Beta Team and I will continue to spent more time on playing the Beta than the life 1.3 version. But I don't know if it's a good idea releasing CQC at this stage in 1-2 weeks???

I'm afraid you're misusing the word "countless" in your posts. ;)

Theres still the bugs with delivery and cargo missions ( from sothis) only having missions going 200+LY and no close range message delivery and cargo and illegal smuggling missions. Short and long range missions are both needed not just moving short range ones to long range a mix of both would be great and im sure could be easily fixed for 1.4

Seems missions variety in general are beign neglected in 1.4

Still no functioning galaxy map then. No stars visible. Since the first beta version.

Another idea (becouse of your avatar I feel the strong need to help you :) ) :

Have you tried reinstall beta, with delete it's directory? I think it's some rare bug, maybe cause lies in your files...

EDIT: Sometimes graphic driver causes strange errors too...

What day is it? It's Thursday? What do they do on a Thursday morning? Purge the servers of unburnt witchfuel residues, re-calibrate all your discovery scanners, tidy up bottles of blue hair dye from all over Imperial space and set free thousands of newly hatched baby pirates across the galaxy.

IOW: Scheduled server maintenance, be cool.

A while ago I suggested using the community translation process to let us proofread the English original strings. The English string catalogs or .pot files or whatever localization artefacts FD uses could be distributed to proofreaders then the corrected strings merged back into their Subversion. This is the approach we use at work to turn our apps from multinational programmer jargon to mellifluous native speaker English graduate prose.

How about making countless (SCNR) requests for this, so FD see we're serious about spiffing up the language for them?

Just a heads-up for the FD crew... Immediately following the routine server maintenance at the top of this hour, I am no longer able to connect to the ED servers. The game is giving me the following message at the bottom left on the title screen, and both the FULL GAME and CQC Championship menu items are grayed out and go RED when clicked on saying "Unable to connect to the Frontier Game Servers"

Message at bottom of the screen on my Xbox One version:

"Can't connect to edServer: Your client is too old. Please upgrade to the latest version of Elite Dangerous".

I made the decision to also post this report here because this is the first maintenance for the XB1 version since our version was moved onto the same test servers as the PC and Mac versions. So I believe we are now also part of the process being discussed in this thread.

Obviously an oversight was made regarding the XB1 community's use of GPP 3.0 to access the servers, which as far as I know is the latest version of the XB1 game. At least I have yet to be prompted to update the game after several complete shutdowns and reboots of both the XB1 console and ED itself.

It has now been almost an hour since I was forced to logout for the maintenance, and as of this post, I am still unable to reconnect with the game and the CLIENT TOO OLD message continues to be displayed.

Give it time; they're no doubt working on it, and it can take a while to figure out these bugs.
Do updates still need to be validated by Microsoft before they are deployed onto their platform? That'd also slow things down.

Maybe no biggie.
But I do hope they fix the planet texture glitch before release, It tends to ruin immersion when you see what I can only describe as a two frame gif strobing in and out on every planet except gas and earth likes.

I tried validating game files, which is essentially the same, as far as I know. To no avail. :(

And I appreciate your helpfulness, but you know that I am not my avatar, right? ;)

If that irritates you, try speed scooping while circling a star and pay attention to its surface. This particular texture glitch has been there since standard beta.

It really does seem like FD are dragging out the release of this patch, so there's less of a content drought between its release and Horizons.

News about the Horizons beta timefrime would be welcome as well, given we paid money to access it.

I thought matchmaking on CQC was improved.

Its worse than before, matchmaking lvl30+ on one team against 3 lvl 2s, a lvl3 and a lvl 14. utter joke.
Its not even fun, cant even hurt the enemy, let alone stand a chance winning.
