Powerplay Aisling's not gonna last long now...

There is a CMDR bobblehead, a David Braben bobblehead and a Patreus bobblehead.

Since CMDR and D. Braben won't become Emperor and Patreus is the only "Power" as a bobblehead (Aisling bobblehead would be a much bigger seller) I bet that he will be the next Emperor.

All imperial CMDRs will want to buy one to be able to bask all the time in his bobbliness.

Or it will be the Denton Patreus Memorial Bobblehead :S

BTW what happens if really a Power from PowerPlay becomes Emperor/Empress?

Wouldn't it result in a very strange situations where the other imperial Powers work against the Emperor/Empress and becoming traitors?

Politicians that are supposed to be on the same side fight amongst and plot against each other all the time. Just look at the jiggery-pokery Hudson pulled to get into office at the expense of the previous President.

depends on the rules FD implements.

They make the other PP Empire factions disappear and add their territory to the Emporer ones. -unlikely
They add another Empie character replaing the Emporer, and the Emporer is not going to be a faction.
They add their variables to a way that Empire PP characters can not undermine and do other hostile actions vs the Emporers faction.
They unite the Empire as whole and keep seperated characters. So people will now act as the empire as a whole and still have various PP characters to choose from.

It's all up to what FD is willing or planning to implement.

Proof? Please for the sake of 8 characters?

Senate Declares Arissa Lavigny-Duval Emperor

Standing on the steps of the Senate building, Chancellor Anders Blaine announced the Senate's decision on the succession. In a historic selection, and as a result of a clear majority vote, Arissa Lavigny-Duval will be the next ruler of the Empire. She will be the first female leader of the Empire since Marlin Duval founded the original colony on Achenar in the 23rd Century, although she will carry the title 'Emperor' rather than 'Empress'. Such an appointment would have been impossible prior to the reign of Hengist Duval due to an ancient decree that all Imperial rulers be male, but a ruling passed by the late Emperor early in his reign did away with this generations-old tradition.

The news has been almost universally celebrated, and even Princess Aisling Duval offered her support for the appointment. The celebrations are likely to continue until the coronation ceremony in a week's time.

Not everyone agrees with the Senate's decision, however. In a statement, Emperor's Dawn declared the selection of Arissa Lavigny-Duval "a desecration of the traditions of the Empire". The organisation has vowed not to allow the ceremony to happen.

Well, Mahon is still single if Aisling is interested.

We should get our factions together and campaign to make this a CG. Bring Wine to Alioth and Cemiess to make it official!

It was only ever a one-horse race for Emperor anyways. We all knew ALD was gonna take the paper crown since day one.

Galnet doesn't seem to be working!:(

Glorious news, although Emperor's Dawn say they won't permit the Coronation to go ahead.

I for one don't trust Blaine - he won't be happy, having been so close to the Throne himself. Combined with his Emperor's Dawn (ED) connections, I suspect he might be heavily involved with them, perhaps even their leader. Considering that Blaine has effectively run the Empire for decades and is Senator for Facece (the principal Imperial Navy base), it would explain how they have gone undetected for so long and how they've managed to infiltrate the upper echelons of the Empire so successfully. Not to mention how they've become so well-armed as to be able to fight back Patreus. Furthermore Blaine would have a most intimate knowledge of the problems afflicting the Empire, feeding perfectly into ED's demand for a full-scale revolution in the Imperial system.

Also, the way ED has been presented recently suggests to me that they may being prepared to emerge as another power. In which case they would need a leader, and who would be more dramatic than Blaine himself?

He'd need a face first :)

He'd need a face first :)

I say he is a Catonia, rather than a villian.

Guys we need to start preparing Paesia, while not the best planet for income, it would finally grant Aisling a prestine metallic Ring System. that would help to attract some players.
