Nice work! Yep that sounds like a reasonable explanation.

Also means I didn't imagine the whole thing, which is always nice :)

Sounds like this could be a bug/glitch then, maybe submit a bug/ticket with your data. Space is strange enough without teleporting to the nearest planetary body when leaving SC..

Awesome work!

If it's not too much to ask, could you also post your unmodified version, i.e. before you fixed/tweaked it based off of the drawing it generated? Perhaps with the audio recordings?

That way we have the original Morse that you transcribed, the source recordings, and the "corrected" version of the transcription (in case this becomes important in future).

Vulture and Diamondbacks the most detailed ships, Cobra and Sidewinder the most "Vintage", special mention for FdL and Viper.

In-game, I opened the galaxy map, went to Sol centered Sol on the Pleiades, and searched for Merope, which flew me there in a straight line. I think this is the best way to approximate the view of the Pleiades from a Sol based telescope.

I manually added the positions of Electra and Taygeta, because they are too far out to show on the map.

Merope seems slight off from where I would expect her, but nothing too alarming. I have no idea what is up with Electra and Taygeta though, and I make no claims as to if it even means anything. But for what it's worth, those are my findings so far.

Derthek leaving here? I know cleaning up at the Canonn main base is time consuming but couldn't we improve his terms and conditions for a break here now and again? You'll be severely missed here Cmdr. That's my rep gone too,but then I still haven't figured out what it was for anyway.

Morning folks. I was sucked in by this topic from skimming across forums; I have joined Canonn on the external website, but not on here, so please let me know if I have to. Otherwise, I have read through quite a few pages of this thread but don't have time to do all 517!! Therefore, can anyone very briefly explain to me the purpose of a UA as far as it is understood at the moment please? It would help me understand the subject better, as I do find it quite intriguing.

Interesting. I dropped into the system within scanning range of it, as the scan detected warning was immediate, and just observed it for a short while (being surprised at the amount of distortion surrounding it). I was in a Python, with a number of escape pods, a couple of ancient artefacts and some other junk in cargo, if that's important.

I'll try confirm the precise system later on. Either actually d1-52 or one over from it (I'm doubting myself now) having set off from Merope, detouring slightly on my way up to Varati.

Common sense evaded me somewhat in my rush; at least I had the presence of mind to record it.

Just checked this out myself. At 700 Ls, the dark side of Aries Dark Region TE-P B6-3 1 is too small to see. Which is not surprising as it's about the same size as mercury and you're looking at it from mars. If you're next to the sun you can see it from a couple of hundred Ls because of the reflected light, but from the dark side you need to be within a hundred Ls.

Anyway, everything seems normal in the system.
