Well seeing as we are going to be there producing "Emergent Game play and storyline"
You have two choices, Only Two.
1) We fly in as we are in underspec'd ships, have fun and throw a little roll play around how the influx of smuggling to Sothis has reduced the normal trade routes and caused a down turn in viable pirating targets in our home systems.
2) We fly around in our normal ships, do the same and greatly reduce the chance of Elite players in their A Rated Uberships from just crawling back into SC and into port.
Is it something we want to do because its a damn sight more interesting than ANYTHING else 1.4 gave us. ( Including CQC which is so easy it because boring VERY quickly ) YES, Yes it is!
Ok first of all gameplay does not work like that, that would imply that there would be options and alternatives, but in this scenario you even start out with going.
"you only have two choices" I'm sorry, that's not how roleplay works, at least not in my book. Forcing what 'you' want on other players and pretending you are doing it to improve the game, is not something that works, you are doing it because you are bored with what is there in the game, you can't find things you want to do, so you harass other players. Or that is the impression I am getting, no one is saying you cannot be pirates but the blow people out of the sky because they are doing x and you want money from it, makes no sense, you earn nothing from blowing up people, and take clear of game mechanics that are to your advantage, such as the factions giving the smuggling missions would naturally have nothing to do with you, and wouldn't allow you to dock/rearm/refuel, anywhere in their space, and sothis space being what it is well...
If there was _ANY_ sort of consistency to the code's actions, I'd believe they are as they represent themselves, but having not met them ingame yet, and only able to read forums and others impressions, I am getting the distinct impression that it seems like a group of bored teens just wanting to harass other people because they are bored. Like it happens so many other places. Nothing is being done from code's side to actually make me believe that they are who they claim to be, and that they have an interest in roleplay.
