MOTHER OF GOD

i am lost for words...

Really nice footage. Just shows how one could hide away on a planet in perfect view, unless relatively someone comes rather close.

Really looking 'Real'.

I wonder what the possibility is of there being the correct mix of volatiles to burn... is that even possible? I know oxygen is needed or are there chemicals that do the same job that could possibly be there?

The long term plan is to have everything from lifeless rocks to "earthlike" worlds with vegetation, wildlife and cities all over the surface...I'm pretty sure they plan to constantly improve the look across the board. ;)

Really looking forward to seeing active volcanism later in Season 2! :)
I haven't seen any improvements in graphics in our current game season since its release in 2014. Why should I expect it for Horizons? Planets with atmospheres are not planned for Horizons and we don't know when we'll see them (definitely not before the end of 2016). Volcanic planets will be a new feature - they will look different and amazing from 300 meter and above point i'm sure (this video in 0P proves it). Not so sure about up-close view - maybe they plan to make it look great right before release in a few weeks time. I'll wait, don't want to get my hopes high and get disappointed like with current game.

I don't even know how many times this has been said in the thread already, but that is just stunning. Not only the awesomeness of the pull back and seeing the mist in the crater, but just the sheer scale!!!

Looks amazing.

That looks amazeballs! It that a first taste of the introduction of volcanism? It's amazing how much that mist increases the sense of scale.

Very nice video. The landing gear on the Viper seemed weird, extended at a right angle from the ship's hull... Maybe it extends further to adapt to the irregular terrain on planet surfaces, or maybe this is placeholder since this is the new Viper...

Really excited to finally touch down!

My hope is they will add REAL high & ultra modes to the game in the future. DB almost confirmed it in the Q&A when he talked about ring shadows and light sources.
I think they had to step back the graphics because of performance issues (stutter, glitches, framerate). Now that they are getting better performance, they may be able to make the graphics look better.

Also remember it runs in DX9 right now... Sooner or later they will have to move forward and make the game run on DX11&12 and leave DX9 and old computers behind.

Goosebumps.
Huge goosebumps.

I did not expect we would have such a fog effect on planets without atmosphere. Cool.
So much too learn and experience.
That is a great looking planet.

I think it seems weird because it's taller than normal so that the SRV can come out from underneath it. I suspect the same for all smaller ships on planets.
