Delay away, perhaps give horizons backers access to 1.5 ( those of us that ordered the beta hirozons package that is) so that our beta can go into something beta in the meantime, a nice balance to a few days or a weeks wait

But isn't this something we should be able to beta test in order to decide whether it's balanced or fun or not?I'd love to be, but there's too much to do finding the right balance between flying *to* a planet, and flying *into* a planet first. One of these is fun, the other is awesome.

Hi All,
I'm new to the Elite-D community, but have 250+hrs on Elite Dangerous since October and I bought the Horizons update with the beta access a couple of weeks ago and have been waiting until midnight tonight to get on and download the beta of Horizons (ONLY to NOW find out it's delayed).
A little bit more warning would have been appreciated (perhaps on the launcher!!). I'm not TOO mad at you for delaying it (if it's totally not working). However, I've cleared my whole diary from tonight till Thursday night, so I could have a non-stop session on Horizons (NOW I CAN'T....Grrr!!!).
We (the community) appreciate that it's not going to be perfect (it's a BETA, not a finished product). So, unless there's a major issue/fault with horizons, why not just release it on the date stated (tonight) and you could do updates over the next few days to sort out the issues that are causing you to delay the WHOLE release. I'm sure this approach would gain you far more respect from the community (even with any initial issues/blips that may happen), as opposed to delaying the whole beta. Besides.... it's a BETA anyway, so we expect initial issues with it, that's also why we're also doing the beta, to help you test it before it's full release....
Don't worry though, even with this delay, I'm still completely delighted with Elite D. That's also why I decided to pay for the beta, to try and give something extra back to you (the Developer). I'm just really miffed because I've cleared everything on my diary, to give me two completely uninterrupted days with Horizons. Now I'm only going to get little shots of it here and there between my wife and kids and the weekend (which is our family time with the kids).
Anyway, I'm really not trying to moan. But, I just felt that you needed to know, it's not just as simple as a few days delay for everyone (with 1 days notice), there are knock on consequences for people and I'll bet I'm not the only one, I'm sure there's a lot of people who've adjusted their diary's to give this beta the time it deserves.

That's okay guys we can wait a bit longer. Just add in the current oculus SDK version and some more ship skins and we will call it even!

Hmm that's an interesting comment there.
Because of work commitments I only get to see my family at the weekend. And this weekend they're coming here... so I can see the arguments that are coming this weekend as I try to convince my two year old that landing on a planet is FAR MORE fun than watching The Animal Sounds Song for the nth time and the wife telling me to let him watch the bloody thing.

umm how big a crater does your 1 billion credit corvette make when it fly's INTO a planet, on second thought how big a crater does it make in your bank account, on 3rd thought take your time i don't really want to find out the answers to those questions on my own
