Hi David,
I would definitely be interested to know what the issues are that you have been facing - it's always interesting to get a behind the scenes glimpse at the kind of issues faced during these crunch times.

Any idea when the database instance snapshot will be taken ? i need to make some big changes that will not prove too useful in the beta. Would love to know if the beta snapshot has already been taken?
I'm probably wrong, but it looked to me like one of the possible issues is that every ship needs to have enough ground clearance to deploy the Scarab underneath it and then allow the Scarab to drive out - and as a result, landing gear needs to be rejigged on some ships (saw it on the Viper Mk IV, so it'll probably heavily affect the Viper Mk III, Sidewinder and Diamondback among others).
There are a number of issues (correctly guessed/spotted by some here), including some glitches when travelling down to the surface on some planet types. This morning I have seen the key part of a fix to this, but it still needs to be committed and tested. There have also been some blocking issues with gameplay, now mostly fixed, on some of the surface bases. For example there is a bug we have just found where generators and defences are not properly hooked up to the relevant part of the base, and security doors are not working correctly – issues which can make completing a mission impossible. There are also some polish issues like the streaming stall many people spotted (visible in my last ‘peek’ – where some textures and geometry appear very low res, as the high res versions hadn’t streamed in) which would not have stopped the beta going live, but should now be fixed anyway.
