Interdiction in OC or Glide ?

Just a question: Will it be possible to get interdict (with the FSD interdictor) during the Orbital Glide Cruise or Glide?

Hope my english is not too bad to undestand my question :)

OC I'd say yes, as it is part of SC, in Glide I'd say no as it is part of... something else.
And there is nothing wrong with your English :)

I'd suspect vonDutch is right that since SC and OC are effectively the same it will work in OC... the question that springs to mind is in what state will you land if interdicted in OC? I suspect it will dump both participants into glide state....

I'm guessing this is what happens:

The transition from OC to glide seemed ( even though still a transition ) appeared to be pretty smooth, I would think a smart attacker would wait for you to drop into Glide then try to shoot you down.

The transition from SC to OC hasn't been shown yet? I may be wrong about that but I haven't seen it. I would think if the attacker did not own Horizons and the escapee did, you would lose the attacker in the instance change.

It was shown in first Europa video (the moment when "surface HUD elements" appear - that is SC to OC transition).

Kris is correct - OC is just SC at a lower altitude with a slower minimum speed and a change in HUD symbology. As such, THAT transition is totally seamless. In the scenario where the attacker did not have Horizons but their victim did, at the point where the victim slipped away into OC, the attacker would get a "too close" emergency drop, since the altitude thresholds for both are the same.

I don't think combat will be possible in glide (it would go against FD's ethos in combat style, to date).

But I've no idea how it'll be handled, in that case. Perhaps the interdiction will still be used to pull someone out of glide.

Or, perhaps, simply firing any weapon will disengage glide and do the same for your target if you hit your target.

We'll soon find out.

Why interdict on landing? Wait until he launches in his SRV and sends his ship back into orbit under AI. Kill the ship, then kill the SRV. Two kills for the price of one.

Actually, I've just watched DB's video again and the FSD cool down starts after glide ends. So you will be able to interdict targets (and be interdicted) in glide flight.

Quite how that'll work, given your escape vector might be flying directly toward the planet, we'll again have to see.
