Can someone come speak to me on Canonn TS please (now)? The Office of Alliance Statistics needs to speak to you!
I'm not officially part of the Canonn, but I got an A-Level in Stats if you want a sanity check on some tinfoil hattery.

Kyp, Derthek and Nick Powell were kind enough to come chat. Over at the Alliance Office of Statistics (Mahon Reddit) we thought we had found something that had been missed and it suggested that the technical problems effecting stations was a technological virus being spread by ships like the Cerberus plague not the UAs themselves. We had a sound theory to show this was the case, however two stations which we thought did not have a Black Market turned out to have them after all. One because two stations had that same name.
So, you're not in need of a Chi-Squared test then. Ok.

Bingo ! That might be a clue ! Maybe it's some sort of a carrier for the UAView attachment 79563 not sure if this worked (I'm on my phone) but I just saw this in my ED Facebook feed, in the Merope system

I've visited 49 Arietis, 64 Arietis, Nganji, Diaguandri and Peregrina... with a UA in the hold. It's not me, honest!Thought: regarding the recent Galnet about Korolyov et al and fears of a 'technological virus'.
If it's a computer virus, it could spread via the galactic network, potentially via any ship, potentially between stations.
Might also be that the only thing that's needed is a ship that's *carried* a UA has to dock at the station, regardless of whether it sells one or not.
The toxic corrosion could merely be a cover, planting a nasty cold (yes, ID4 style) into any ship, turning it into a carrier.
If so, then hundreds of stations could yet be on the list to go down - even those without black markets.
In fact, if there are any affected stations without black markets now, then that could explain it.

Goldstein Station in Lembava doesn't have a black market, so that should be ok.If ray gateway falls this will be a disaster

OT: What's your tipple? I availed myself of the Bonn Flughafen shop and bought a bottle of Glenlivet Distillers edition which I'm enjoying very much. Normally a peaty man.

I said it last time, and now this latest report just underlines it in thick black marker with a huge red PROVEN stamp on top.
Pic Tok, Nganji, Peregrina... all locations of large scale sales of UAs by player groups advertised online. Speaking for myself, these reports indisputably prove that selling UAs at stations leads to problems and shutdowns. I hope others are just as convinced by the evidence. Since we have no agency or influence over other player groups, we can't stop people selling UAs at black markets.
If we can't stop the sales, then we need to be at the forefront of looking into countering the effects. Cmdrs collectively managed to come together to find and distribute a cure for the Cerberus Plague earlier this year, so we collectively have the ability to distribute an "antidote" or "vaccinate" station systems. I believe learning how to vaccinate or innoculate station systems is now The Canonn's TOP PRIORITY heading into the new year.

There's alternative well stocked shipyards and outfitters within Li Yong-Rui territory at ix, BD-04 797, Airman Di, 64 Ceti and a few others.
BD-04 797 is my usual place to buy ships, then it's not far to Lembava or Diagunadri to fill up any module upgrades if needed.
Dear everyone, I'm BACK™!
Installing Horizons right now, I will answer soon to the PMs I've received in these few days.
Appreciation to the awesome Drew Wagar who is still following this thread/novel, and to the mighty Michael Brookes that has still the force and the will to tease/fool us

Glad I'm not the only one around here that played starflight (and loved it). Other favs of a bygone era are Trade Wars 2002 and Masters of Orion.
It does feel empty. Even the manual for many games was storified. I have all my Mechwarrior boxes, the X-Wing series ones and many others framed on the the computer room's wall, along with the Homeworld Ships Specifications, maps of Morrowind, Cyrodiil & Skyrim, Liberty City, Vice City and others.
I certainly would pay extra for such things now. They are tremendous sources of immersion. Print me a high-quality map of the Human Bubble in E: D & I'll fork over the cash right off! (do you hear me, FD?)
