Hello fellow explorers. I'm commander Tootiny and I'm 13 days into my 1st long journey. I'd like to make this thread my sort of blog as I've seen others do. If that's ok with the community.
I'd like to share a nice screen shot that kind of fits my role-play for my commander. Maybe a good omen for things to come! :p It's the Redhead girl nebula:D

I plan on staying out as long as I can. I had 6 months as a goal but maybe I'll keep going beyond that if my ship holds up. (so far not a scratch and 6.5k ly's out)

I'm keeping a written record of my 1st discovery's and have a written record stat wise of when I started (didn't think to take a screen shot till I was 5 days in :rolleyes:

I'll continue to update this thread.
Also I'll post my ship specs for the folks that helped me with that.

I would really love to know how to hide screen shots as spoilers so this thread doesn't turn folks off with bulkiness.
Please help me with that. I can't figure out how to do it :(

just wrap the image in spiler tags.

eg (spoiler)image url*(/spoiler)
Replace the round brackets witht he square ones, obviously.

I don't think lots of pictures turn people off...I like seeing them, rather than having to click to see them. Most people in these forums would have enough bandwidth to deal with the extra download.

1) write (or edit) your post
2) click "Go Advanced" - on the lower right of the text box
3) select the text you wish to hide under a spoiler
4) click on the spoiler tag, which is the last icon in the last row of icons and looks like a package label

Well i cant seem to get the spoiler thing right but I'll figure it out eventually, anyways I'm doing well. i have 5 earth likes (3 tagged to me maybe :)) .
4 neutrons so far. nasty buggers.

98% hull (dropped into a star while scooping)

Well seeing as how we're down I thought I'd post an update on my progress. It's a mix of good and bad.
1st the bad:
Hull at 93% -- I was experimenting with letting my tanks go very dry, to see what I could do with my jump range. when I re-filled I dropped in twice. used 1 heat sink charge but took hull damage. PP at 97% repaired the rest with my amfu's. The thing is I'm not sure what I did wrong. I held my speed and angle well I thought, heat was steady at 64% but I still got dropped.
#2 I joined DW's but I'm so far behind everyone it's depressing. my plan is to make the rendezvous point (waypoint 19) so I can hopefully get some help navigating the abyss to BP. but I gotta move my ( ) to get there in time.

The good:
15 ELW's 1st discovered.
~85 water worlds
~20 Ammonia worlds

just having fun. I'm keeping a written record. It's rough but I'm dedicated to it.
I'll close this post with a few shots I took. Thanks for reading.
(also I've friended a few of you guys on the Erimus group. thanks for that!)

Week 12 update! I'm heading towards the core trying to hustle my ship to the edge of the abyss. I took a bit more hull damage thanks to a Neutron. It was the last system of the night and I was tired. I must not have turned quick enough because He grabbed me out of SC. So I'm at 90% hull, PP is ok at 95% and modules are good.

Still stuck on 15 ELW's
2882 systems scanned
55 Neutrons (no farming yet)
5 black holes
Found a few nice un-tagged Type O's
Found my 1st WR star
0 planetary nebula (How rare are these? Are there more in the core?)
64753 hyper distance.

I came upon your thread only today cos i guess other threads are quiet. It goes like that sometimes. In the OP you mentioned writing in character? That can be a heap of fun...both writing and reading though it does take time
