Can anyone please drop a link when more information about the missions is available? I want the imp. cutter to keep playing this game but I'm not buying this, no way, until getting a cutter appropriate rank does not consist of weeks of logging in and out of stations to spam donate missions. Also can we get some clarity on how the naval progression work? Because I find invisible numbers unreliable. I've spent hours of running around doing missions for imperial factions and not seen ANY progression missions. "Do missions = profit" doesn't help.

Erm, guys? I just want you to tell me if this is normal or should I move this to "bug report".

So I'm minding my own business in Sol right now, dropped into a distress call only to see a Farragut cruiser being harassed by three Eagles and a sidey. After clearing out them all and I think two more waves I hear a capital class signature warning and then a second Farragut controlled by pirates jumps in, and starts flinging smaller pirate ships marked as "System Defence Force" in all directions. When their wingcount got to 13 my game has crashed :/ I took a screenshot right before that happened though, if anyone is interested:

How the hell did pirates get their hands on a Farragut, anyway?

...wow...just...wow.

...snip...

So, what should I do?:

....snip...

Replying to myself.

Updated Elite Dangerous 32 bit to v1.5 and the game works just fine like before (with a non DX11 GPU). I have all my new skins (black matte on my Python looks so badass!) and my shiny Bubblehead!! hehehe

I did this because my GPU died a while back and I'm playing with a non DX11 GPU that I had as a backup. Hopefully getting a new one soon.

So now I'm planning into install Horizons as well as a "second choice", so once I get my new GPU it is there waiting for me to play. The thing is, will it be like installing an actual "2nd version/copy of the game"? I mean, hope it will work separated from the regular 32 bit version so I can delete the 32 bit later for once just to play Horizons alone, once I get a new GPU. (I want to install it now and leave it there, so I don't have to do that later...even if I can't play...hope I was clear enough)

Well, thanks to myself for trying something...I guess I shall install Horizons and see if it is actually a different thing compared to the regular version (1.5). I could tell that planets look flat compared to Horizons...so no DX11 features there maybe. (that's why my current terrible GPU still works in 1.5)

All in all I could notice how Galaxy map works faster (at least for me tho), all new features in the UI are great, new sounds are also amazing (the "touchdown" sound while landing in a station sounds great), and some more stuff.

Looking good Frontier. ;)

Thank you again!

I have read the entire patch notes and well.. 10cr bug seems fixed, fdl is buffed and we have a new trade ship with 700ish tones. That's a start. About 20 more to go. Don't get me wrong I m really happy with only those for now, even if I expected much more. And unlike others I bought horizons with no questions asked, which at last after pp and cqc i admit looks promising.

I just updated to ED 1.5 - nice job developers - that was massive. NOW what is the latest on the OSX horizons update? Money is BURNING a hole in my pocket!!!!!!!!

Is it possible to remove the elite: dangerous 2.0 text from the bottom left of the screen? That is OK in a beta but not in a release

I am not a 100% sure about this but I think they have left it there to distinguish between ED v1.5 & the ED Horizons 2.0
...as been shown by some CMDRs on this forum when discussing issues, you can pinpoint what game they are actually playing & what you can or cannot do in each of those game plays.

For example, a CMDR was saying that they couldn't land on a planet for some reason...another CMDR pointed out that in the screenshot, the 1st CMDR provided with their issue, that they were play ED v1.5 & you can't land on planets in that game ....only ED Horizons 2.0

...so having the Elite:Dangerous 1.5 or Elite:Dangerous 2.0 helps to distinguish between different ED games play

ahh I see, thank you for posting that link :D +1 to you good sir :)

on a side note...
it has been helpful for some of the CMDRs to help another CMDR out when confusion arises between v1.5 and v2.0 game play & a screen shot with the version number showing is there for all to see...a lucky accident perhaps

thanks again for posting that link wstephenson :D :)

:) Maybe they should just poke the default HUD colours for all Horizons players to blue, like the launcher, as a subtle cue which version is being played?

Inertial camera simulation :

Now update is complete I have partial answer : 1.5 + HT = still here.
Please, could anyone who has bought and installed Horizon tell me if inertial cam simulation is removed with head tracking ?

Ima cry if you didn't change the vertical thrust control mapping thing on the planet surface I highlighted several days ago.

Apologies if this was asked before, but are there any other localisation plan apart from Spanish? I remember there was a pledge to look for volunteers from the community, but only Spanish was progressed so far AFAIK.

I think that the translation project into Spanish was to be an appraisal of the method, and that if it worked out it might be extended to other languages.

So - first it needs to finish - not sure if it is complete.
second, an appraisal needs to be done.....
and depending on the results.....some further actions, but cannot say at this moment what they might be.

The list of fixes is quite extensive, my favourite part of this release is the list of changes to the missions system (sorry planetary landing). It impacts my gameplay the most while not exploring/bounty hunting, it feels more detailed and specific now and it has the potential to break monotony with some lucrative, but rare deals. So if I'm just jumping between systems, it means I'm combining various gameplay aspects: PP fortification, system factions consolidation by taking missions compatible with my desired role-play, trading on the side for extra profit only when it's very lucrative or at stations aligned with my faction. The current change in the mission system makes them more attractive and more likely to make me go out of my consolidation/trade loop (before, missions would rarely be incentive enough for me to want to go out of my normal route). It also makes me more likely to take missions from systems I'm not actively trying to consolidate (by increasing the economic state of the systems factions aligned with my major faction, or trying to prevent civil strife, negative actions by other players to my interests). This is good overall, I believe it has the potential to make players active in systems that don't get a lot of traffic and will help them discover good trading opportunities.

It's so good and I hope the developers take pride in this type of work too, because I know they will get a lot of feedback on landings and ships and also hear a lot about bugs and stability bugs, but this work deserve attention too, because it spices up the involvement of players with the lore of the game.

Yeah, I just got the game a few days ago and I'm jazzed about all the non-planetary landing changes. I chose a minor faction somewhat randomly and have decided to try to aid their expansion and control of a new system. These changes are going to increase the fun in doing so. I'm really looking forward to exploring all there is to offer.

Don't get me wrong, once Planetary Landings are stable I'm sure I will enjoy them, but for me the meat of yesterday's release are all the other changes.

Thanks devs, awesome job thus far.
