Yes. You can see the difference clearly in FAON when you turn the rotational correction off (the ship stops automatically following the station's rotation)

FAOFF never follows the rotation automatically in any case.

Wouldn't it be lovely to watch this via an external view - You'd be seeing a lot of the thrusters constantly firing to keep the ship's position and orientation in check!

Evening all.

In this video I test out a 4 laser load out on my Cobra in the factions scenario.

I show the lasers over heat way too quickly so will be chaging my set up, but also how devastating 4 lasers can be.

The combat is not my proudest moment but it does demonstrate how exciting combat can be!

Alpha 3.02 streaming? Oh, I hear grinding in the background as I type. Looks like you had some problems docking!

Attacking a station? That was a heroic effort. :)

Amusing video. One tip though regarding beams, don't hold the trigger down. They seem to work much better if you pulse fire. The damage doesn't seem to decrease and you use far less energy. Unless of course you already knew that, and in that case I'm sorry for pointing out the obvious! ;)

yeah, I remember figuring that out in the single player where you have to take out the Anaconda.

I think Fangrim would have surely toasted me if he hadn't decided to hug the asteroid

As things were a little quiet in game today and I now have my ship set up how I want it. I thought I would see how quickly I could get from being parked at the spawn point to parked in the dock.

No Side Winders (and only my Cobra) were damaged in the making of this video.

Turns out 46 seconds, or 9.14 left on the clock.

The gauntlet is down!

PS do I get bonus points for style going through the air lock?

Quick question: Can you use any music as you like as long as you credit the owner or do you need permission for copyright reason?

I don't really know that much about how Youtube operates in this regard but I believe the copyright owners can have Youtube take down any videos if they file a complaint on it. I think if you decide to monetize your videos then the copyright owners can also claim the earnings as their own or something. It's a complicated issue and it became more complicated after Youtube's recent policy changes. If you're using content that isn't your own then you're pretty much treading on thin ice.

Personally I don't monetize my videos, I make them for fun! If Youtube or a copyright owner wants to take them down then that's fine. I do try to use music by lesser known artists, who are not represented by major labels and their aggressive legal teams and who might actually appreciate a little bit of extra publicity for their music.

I used a Boards of Canada track for one of my videos against my better judgement but after trying out a lot of different tracks, that one seemed perfect for the feel I was going for so I just went with it. As a general rule I always credit the music I use at the end of the video and provide links in the description so people can go and buy it.
