MSI Afterburner Capture and transcoding

MSI afterburner capture works great for me and is one of the only tools I have found that will capture Crossfire artefacts as most seem to disable Crossfire when recording starts.

However MSI Afterburner creates those damn huge hulking .AVI files 2.5GB for 5 minutes of footage at 1080p.

Being a bit tight I decided to see what can be done for free. I have VirtualDub which does basic editing etc. and coupled with the following guide now use this to rescale trim and convert my videos in one process.

VirtualDub save direct to mp4 -Fraps to YouTube - with external encoders

Using this I record at 85% quality in MSI Afterburner then I can crop and trim the video, downscale by 2:1 and convert to MP4 (2.5GB to 80MB) in one fairly simple process.

Ive googled all over the place but in the end didn't find a solution:

1. How can I download highlights from Twitch?
2. How can I download recordings from Twitch?

I tried the url below with a highlight and recording (I read that highlights are undownloadable), but it doesn't seem to work:

Anyone got experience with "ripping" from Twitch, and can recommend a good and reliable (virusfree) process/tool?

Hi guys, after watching and admiring ZeeWolf, Sam J, Iglooman, Logan Terrik, Kerrash and Neon Raven for a long while, I've finally got my ass in gear and put something together today.

It's basically a bit of a test run before Beta lands at the end of the month. I'm using iMovie for the video, and an image editor called Acorn for titles and other static assets. Any feedback would be much appreciated!

I've been chatting with ZeeWolf and am considering doing some voice tracks for subsequent ones, although I lack a decent microphone.

Anyway I'm glad to be joining in, I'm finding this a really fun creative outlet.

P.S. I forgot to mention there's a little homage to my favourite Twitch streamer in the video too
