I've done a brief bit of work on this. There doesn't appear to be a relationship between distance from Merope and price.

For me the T-ship thing was never a thing I took seriously. It's people who want to see a conspiracy EVERYWHERE who wll be led to all kinds of crazy conclusions. I think a strategic use of a heat sink launcher should be advised.

I, for one, welcome our new pebble overlords.
I wish i could be helping you guys and girls right now but i have had a bit of a mishap.The night before horizons went live i took my python close to merope and before that i spent a few nights earning my peregrina permit.I had been testing a lot in the beta and had been clearing my save to look at the new planetside starting points.Well i must have loaded the real game and cleared my save for realsies.I ticketed it right away and on the afternoon of the horizons release i had a reply that my commander had been brought back to life i was so relieved.Until i got home and realised that something had gone wrong.The bottom line is that i have nothing i am a new starter.I have written back to support and have had 3 agonising days of nothing.I am unwilling to play right now because i don't know if my info can be restored and i don't want to jeopardise that.I am so angry at myself i could not have done it at a worse time.Support are probably snowed under more than they have ever been and it seems to be the most exciting time for science and biscuits also.I sit and wait....
Ouch, that's a serious bummer man. Hope you can get your data back if there is a way to do so.

Who said I'm not having fun ?! I could drive the srv on a planet forever and yet have fun ! Like I said I drove 500 km on the srv already last night me and kicks and flint were cruising on merope 1 A together to enjoy our time but come on let's face it , we lost silent pact ! He was one of our experienced scientists , most people think he's being an old pessimistic guy but let me clarify he's been into elite games since 1984 which is the time when original elite came out so yea he's got a lot of experience in elite franchise
thing is I for one wanna see the thargoids in the game and I know all of you guys including David braben himself ( �� ) would wanna see them again so we would hesitate each time we wanna press the j button
but the way the UA thread is going I'm starting to lose hope sort of : I keep thinking I'm not so smart or I'm not helping the group or something like that
so don't get me wrong I'm not saying I gave up or I don't think horizons is not fun I'm just saying come on frontier ! Give us some clues !!! We've got a mystery to solve ! It's called the unknown artefact !

It's tempting to ask for clues - but the reason this thread made it to #4 is because of the vast number of commanders coming here, chipping in (and, on occasion, out) and contributing to the greater whole.
By plugging away, keeping our cool, and trying our best to enjoy the experience: that's how we'll move forward.
Reading the non-salty comments it's clear that lots of CMDRs are now also pursuing lots of avenues, and this is great - don't worry, we'll get there. We always have.
The thing with this sort of thing is that there are two possibilities, 1) We haven't found anything significant in game yet and 2) There isn't anything in game to find yet. Both seem equally plausible but I've been hunting Thargoids since 1984, I'm far to invested to give up now

Yeah this is terrible news - condolences, and I also hope they can help you out. Perhaps pull your last commander data from the beta? It would be 2 weeks or more old, but certainly better than nothing.

This a thousand times over. Not only a small detail in life, but also a small part of what's on offer just in the game (even if it is the most intiguing at the moment). I think the only frustration I really have is that we can't really be 100% certain whether or not there was anything prior to 1.5/2.0 that we did not discover regarding the object.
I have, but not extensively. Nothing out of the ordinary to report. So many things to try, so much real life Christmas stuff getting in the way. Not to mention I'm off to see Force Awakens tomorrow, I really can't believe I'm both excited about it and disappointed I have less time to explore the Horizons
And I didn't find anything on the first one (not in game to check and can't remember the exact gravity, but I think it was a HMC with low g, the other 2 look rocky and are ~60kls out). Didn't check the two orbitting the second star, I wanted to move on.
