Acting surprised in. 3....2....1.... really?

You actually thought this wouldn't happen? I have oceanfront real estate on the Moon for sale at a great price if you really did. Either people did their thing and sold UAs en masse (highly likely) or this is FD's way of lighting a fire under our collective behinds (also likely). I think it's a bit of both personally.

I know but still.......it's just annoying and I've been trying to abuse the station as well to help explore.....just I'd like to keep some belief that we aren't all monsters that want everything in caos.....

At HIP 21285 A 1 right now, with a free floater 0.18ly from the planet, well within the span if it's ring system. It's definitely falling towards the planet, not in orbit around it. First time I've seen one this close to a planet, although it's probably also the first time I've tried.

I was a little unsure because at least one seemed to be moving relative to the surface too, but that was the only one that did so I might not have gotten myself lined up correctly.

It's Harma that closed. Obsidian is open. Only some issues for now.

If sales stop now, it will probably stay open.

This issue at Obsidian Orbital gave me a thought though. Just a short while ago, I sold some stuff in the black market, but not an UA. I sold a black box, some kind of salvageable material, and some pesticides.

We've mentioned that this is appearing more like a virus than anything else. We know it's only happening to stations that have a black market.

When I picked up the black box, there was a salvage crew there doing their thing. They made that fairly common comment about "it looks like it blew up from the inside". What if the black box that I picked up was tainted with some kind of alien virus from an UA that it was carrying. Some unsuspecting schmuck comes by and scoops up the black box and sells it on the BM. Then someone in the station plugs it in and the virus spreads.

After all of Jmanis' work, I'm starting to wonder if it's the UAs doing this to the stations or not.

Nah not monsters... people like Kylo Ren are monsters.. we're just woefully ignorant.

It is not like the CIRG didn't warn about this about a month ago....

That goes a bit against the basic properties of a black hole. They are good recievers, but horible at sending.

What about quantum stuff?
With the size of a universe, or a multitude thereof,
there might be the possibility of a twin, which after having twin a receiving stuff,
is altered in the same way.

I'm by no means a scientist, but hey;)

I'm no scientist either but i think the current idea is that all information that enteres a black hole is stored on the event horizon.
That way nothing can escape, but nothing is lost either.

Yeah, when it comes to sending they're like that family member at Christmas that sends Christmas cards by text because they couldn't be bothered to buy them.

Although - if Hawking is indeed right (about being wrong) - information can escape a black hole even if matter can't. Quantum entanglement and all that.

Don't think the information knows where it's going though...

Hawking radiation..

Hawking radiation is black body radiation that is predicted to be released by black holes, due to quantum effects near the event horizon.

He doesn't explain it this way but I think I'd like to think of it as like a form of Newton's cradle... impacts push or propel data out the other side.

Well, the black hole with unusual mass made me think. Anyone knows about the Kardachev scale? Look at type II civilizations and what they try to do with black holes ...

Now we can ask us the question: is the black hole the result of an experiment? Are the UAs GDs (gravity detectors), placed in a secure distance around the experiment, waiting for funny things to happen?

Sincerely yours,
Crassus

Thus creating a hologram of "reality" at the moment a particle strikes the event horizon it is essentially duplicated with one continuing through to the singularity and the other being "suspended" on the surface for a very VERY long time. The real question is the whole concept of light not escaping and thus creating a "black" surface... recently a new theory is making waves and that is whether we no longer see light not because it is bending inward rather because it is becoming infinitely red-shifted outside of the ability to perceive it.

Point is black holes are far more complicated then what the game makes them out to be.... far more complicated and frankly we're still not sure about how they really work.

If you throw a biscuit into a black hole, then - would tin foil protect it?

Conservation tells us that both biscuit and tin would be "preserved" in a holographic state at the event horizon... I'd just as soon go buy more at the store than trying to go pick it up where nature divides by zero.

No sure about this, but i think that basic Hawking radiation happens just outside the event horizon. Particle pairs of matter and anti matter are created in the vacuum. More anti matter than matter is absorbed by th BH. This leads to a slow evaporation of the BH into space.

Did this make sence?

Guys, what if it's just magic?

It's not magic it's nature's version of Black Friday... they both start with Black and that's no coincidence. You and about 50Million people cram into a 25 square foot area at the back of Wal Mart to pick up the lone Xbox One which is selling for 99 bucks.

Black Holes work exactly the same only with a lot more stuff and no Xbox.

EDIT: Also the security cameras have a video of you walking into the store (like a hologram at the event horizon) so when the cops arrest you for beating up the snarky 11 year old who grounded you with a cheap shot kick to the shin your mugshot will be forever preserved in the halls of shame.
