New nVidia driver

nVidia driver 361.43 was released a bit ago and looks promising. If not for ED specifically, at least for VR as a whole?

Sure wish ED supported .8 sdk without cheesey workarounds and third party frankenstein virtual machines. I'm especially excited for the SLI support and performance increases, as a dual GTX-770 user. Maybe Santa will surprise us with Oculus sdk .8 support that works with this new nVidia driver 361.43.

On another note, all the recent "space" games are looking really great, even SC. What a great time to be a space game fan. There's at least half a dozen "space" games I'm looking forward to but, honestly, after ED I've shied away from backing games and am taking "get it when released" approach, for my own sanity.

If Oculus support (native) or when Oculus support is back in ED I'll give it another go. IMO once you've played ED in VR there's just no going back. It's certainly in my personal hall of fame as a PC game experience.

I believe (probably wrong) that it's GameWorks and Oculus SDK .8 support but, to be honest I'm not sure. I need to go read up on it.

FYI I downloaded and installed.
Having problems with SLI now.

**Edit**
Scrap that. The install wiped out a few settings including completely disabling SLI.
Early reports are looking pretty good. I use the rift and 2x970. Sitting in a station I normally bounce around between 60-70 fps, depending on what is happening. for the last 5 mins it's been pretty consistent at 73-75 fps.

When I get a sec I'll take the FDL down to the surface for a test

**Update**
With a tear in my eye. Smooth 75fps everywhere. Even on the surface

Reading this release and sounds pretty encouraging as far as VR is concerned. Might have to try this one on a clean install.

What runtime are you using and/or what general settings?

I'm not able to get any boost in performance when enabling SLI with these drivers on runtime 0.8. Judders when raising SS to 1.5 in station and Afterburner shows both GPU's are only utilized 45-55%...

Please tell us your settings in ED. If you're not at SSx1,5 or higher your experience is very normal. I run ED with one OC'd GTX970 at SSx1,5 judderfree (runtime 0.5).

Its working for me but yea only utilising 40+% of at least the second card so I get stutter on 1.5 SS
I can get it smooth but need to knock most settings to low.

Anyone else get bad aliasing with the in game SS?

Does the SLI boost require the 0.8 Oculus runtime?

If not, please let us know which version your running and how well it's going.

For me SLI only gives a boost in 0.5, but introduces so called SLI lag which makes the game unplayable. Without the lag it would be great (SS2, everything at high, no judder)

In runtime 0.8 the load on both cards drops to around 50%, so SLI gives no boost at all and is even a little slower than 0.5 with one card.

Thanks for the info. And that's with yesterday's new SLI boosting driver?

I don't see how this is possible, could you let me know your settings and the method you are using to get SLI working?
