I won't be coming with you guys, but I've checked out the Tsakhmet system (Pristine), 11.85 LY from Pallaeni, for materials, in case it helps. There's some useful stuff there if you need to do last minute collection.

Body:

A1 (HMC) Polonium, Molybdenum

A2 (HMC) Niobium

A3 (HMC) Germanium, Tin, Niobium

A5 (HMC) Technitum, Tin

A6 (Icy) Zirconium, Cadmium, Yttrium

A7 (Icy) Technitum

All materials were found in or close to large craters. Mesosiderites and Metallic meteorites only. This was not an extensive survey, and there may be other materials I have missed.

It's an anarchy system with frequent interdictions - so be prepared.

Excelent! I'm parked in that system if anyone wants to do some prospecting tonight :)

Just got an Anaconda for the first time at Christmas eve. I don't care what ppl say but I'm gone try an land and take off on the 9,77G (HD 148937) world out there. Will also check for resources if I even make it... Or ppl can discover my wreckage.

Update: if you deside to do this find a good flat spot to land on before your even below 2km. even with D6 thrusters i had to tap the vertical thrust buttons the whole time just to stay leveled. to find a good landing spot... as i tryed for 10min and lost 75% hull i gave up an flew away carefully. it was nice to experience it tho. XD

Repped. Going to camp there until we set off.

Good luck, Cmdr. Remember insurance.

View at 23 seconds in... SCARY!

That's strange. Something similar happened to me.

My hull was at 87% and suddenly without any reason to see, it went down to 3%. Just escaped from death.

Since then I never drive with a Hull under 90%.

Analogue vertical thrust control. If your controller has a spare slider or dial that's the way to go.
On my Warthog throttle I use the slider on the base and it allows vertical descent to be set to precisely 1 or 2 m/s for places like Achenar 3. For light gravity worlds up to 10m/s seems safe.
No fancy angles or tricks required.
