Just found a SSS in hip 15609 with 3 convoys in it

1)
2 anaconda escorting a t9
scanned the t9s cargo and it was holding:
2x hafnium 178
10x battle weapons
7 x reactive armour

2)
t9 with cobra escorts
9x personal weapons
7x non lethal weapons
2x painite

3)
t9 with cobra escorts
2x hafnium 178
7x battle weapons
7 x reactive armour

seems this is a dead end guys. :(

It's not a dead end at all. ;)
The UA Convoy is the one with the COMMS chatter going on. I bet those Convoys you scanned did not have any COMMs chatter.
Keep going CMDR: you'll know you've found the UA Convoy, only if there is a COMMs chatter going on about what they are carrying, about the malfunctions, and their promotions.

The Medical Convoy has a COMMs chatter going on as well, but it's just about promotions, and the transport ship is a Python.

Ahh these ones were silent. though a couple of days i did see a convoy with some odd chatter. they said something about making sure the cargo is secure
i cant say its exact location as i was testing out exploration rank gains within the bubble. but it was within 100ly Cayutorme

back to SSS hunting it is.

Descent rate depends on the celestial body's gravity and orbital entry altitude.
Descent-rate will increase the deeper down you get.
The wreck I followed over a 0.09G planet or so, started descent at below ~25ms, but was over 85ms near the surface.
Took 3-4 hours to follow it from orbit.

Similar experiment, just with a wreck:

Perhaps I'm assuming you can't find an UA near enough to a planet for that to be workable, as I think every time I've found one it was pretty far from any celestial bodies. In that case the only way to get one close enough to a planet would be to pick it up and drop it close to one, which of course would trigger the decaying behaviour. So that wouldn't work.

So the only way I can see it working is to go to the Merope shell and look for SSS that are very close to planets. I suspect at the very least it would still take hours, IF you found one near enough to a planet. But once again, I'd be very happy to be corrected.

Yep i am losing my mind found the bit it was on thread 3 but not anything to do with paling just one of us lot.
<<<<< Opens next bottle o red and tries to decide what to do in game tonight.
No shame in that Slarty. I've often thought I remembered something from an official source, only to find out later the source was my good friend Cmdr Rioja ;)

Yep open as a New year special one off :D
Cool :) will see you there.

I think it's the length of this thread and the sheer amount thats gone one in it, it's starting to melt me brain trying to keep things straight.
Well thats my excuse anyway lmao.

Hello folks

After a loooong journey visiting A LOT of planet based and orbit based starports, I finally managed to find the "Strange Alloys" mission in LHS 215, Laveykin Observatory. Now I'm heading out to the black and try to find a POI in a planet to obtain the Meta-Alloys... well, not now, because it is New Years Eve, but tomorrow I'll start my journey.

Good luck with that, I'm going all around the Galaxy, up and down, with the mission still active for a couple days. Nothing so far.
I'm in the Rho Ophiuchi Sector, heading to the dark nebulas around there. Pips and IC 4604.

I found a Couple awesome hot Green Stars btw.

I have had the Meta Mission for about 2 days nothing found so far.

Has anyone tried doing one of the Eye missions that do not list a payout, on the off-chance a clue is given?

I did see something strange while in coalsack something Green passed by me in witch-space heading in the opposite direction, i don't recall having seen something like that before.

Oh perhaps not Paling sure it was on galnet because apart from here it's the only other place i would have read it.
Or i'm losing me mind or need more alcohol.

I'd go with the alcohol route personally-I aim to gain a few years towards immortality tonight (pickled in alcohol)
I'll say Happy New Year to one & all now, as I may be typing under the influence very soon (certainly not driving a spaceship offisher!)

Whatever the case, we are approaching the end of the year and a little wine driven confusion is not only understood but, dare I say, encouraged!

I probably won't be posting anymore before the end of the year, so I'll take this opportunity to wish everyone, from the most vocal posters to the quietest lurkers, from the humble aimless explorer in a Sidey to the most battle scarred Vulture-flying Elite bounty hunter, from the most clueless tinfoil-hatted gamer to the most in-the-know dev, a fantastic end of 2015 and a spectacular 2016.

Bottoms up commanders!

I did, but after the first jump the contact appeared, said "follow me" & jumped off- at which point I found I didn't have a wake scanner in that ship!

Now this is odd, there i was last night going from system to system and at one point i saw a light roundish quite large thing go in the other direction, never noticed it before and put it down to the drink but now seeing as you have brought up the same thing i'm beginning to question this.

Has anyone come across one of these? What is it? Think it was supposed to be the crash site defence, but it quietly left me alone while I took three cargo containers & it didn't respond, so I left it alone
View attachment 91402

It was selectable but had no identification on the HUD.

Not sure if this has come up, but it's hard to keep up with tihs thread and the wiki is out of date it seems. Managed to intercept a medical transport and scan the lead ship with my cargo scanner. It had
8x Performance Enhancers
6x Progenitor Cells
1x Scientific research
8x Occupied Escape Pods

HTH someone :)

just realized in my centroid calcs I forgot to include the Dec 21 information with Maia and Harma, as well as Wolf 1301 from Dec 14. With this included, the centroid is now either:
-50.2555-53.4743-102.7
or
-50.7324-51.4961-109.51
depending on whether you count warkushanui twice or once, respectively.

I'm heading to HIP 32806 to have a look, but there's others that might be worthwhile in the area.

nice ... I saw one yesterday ... was unable to select (was partially encased in rock) ... but I thought it might be a "stinger"

Happy new year everyone - this year has been a complete whirlwind! This time last year I knew none of you at all and was looking forward to a year of solo gaming.

How times have changed! :D

Have fun tonight with the lazor show, myself - have just finished a bottle of Barolo, and am now moving on to a nice Chianti (fava beans optional).

...and a family game of Risk...
