yes, that's the question. however, are we even sure they actually recorded it IN GAME? Maybe they use another piece of software to do all the animations?

Also... if you open the galaxy map, and set to filter by economy, and pick all except the "none" box, then it should show only systems that have a station or colony on them. (I couldn't get this to work properly by using the population slider). I'm not seeing any colored dots close to COL 140 SECTOR VV-L B8-4.

yes i'm here and no colonies....

just the planet.

but that's exactly what I mean... if you're trying to find the place in that scene of the video, then theoretically it would also show up on the galaxy map when filtered this way.

For example... I just found Quince, and I wasn't even looking for it. (Furthest station I'm aware of.)

Have been searching the system with GTR2014 for the fun of it... nothing yet. Very slim chance of finding anything, but hey, more than we have to go on so far. Was kind of hoping to find a hidden / secret base (although you're entirely right - they could have spawned the base at 0:27 specifically for the video, though they should not have had to have done it so far out?) GTR will check some neighboring systems - who knows, maybe he'll find something and the base will become a CG? here's hoping...

i understand. Im here for exploring, was more or less close , won't hurt to look. the station might be removed after using(and the same with the barnies... but worth a try anyway

Quick Question:

I am in HR 1445 and hit a SSS which had a UA. Collected it and went into Supercruise and 10 seconds later hit another SSS with yet another UA. So I grabbed it as well.

So is it rare to have multiple spawns within such a short time frame?

Thanks.

BTW: I don't think HR 1445 in on the official system list.

nah the sirius inc sponsered HIP 18987 to pic tok black market run has UAs in every sss as well we can get 6 at once and rinse and repeat. Its almost as good as smuggling missions

As long as you're 135 - 150 ly from Merope, UA spawns are generally very common.

I flew out to take a look and while the two nebula can be aligned with the frame from the trailer I couldn't get any more that two stars at a time to align and the overall pattern of stars was mostly not there. As long as I'm there going to checkout the Poi's on the rocks.

Hey they might have put the whole trailer together on a test server with hand crafted planets like a movie set to get the shots they want with the apparent narrative only a device to show off what you can do with horizons plus 3 seconds of barnicles to poke the bee's nets.

The barnacle/barnicle thing might be a joke of sorts, as in ice -icle, dipcicle.
Once upon a time using cicle and icle as a suffix was a slightly derogatory joke.

Heh?

The trailer was meant to be exciting and flashy and all. I mean it wasn't a hint with some occasional shooting in it, but it was a cool little video with MAYBE a hint in it.
I'm 100% sure there will be no colony and I guess none was looking for one. It was a video why would they show too many empty planets? It's only natural some kind of activity should be there.

They might have used another software or it could also be just a coincidence, using this skybox we're hunting for, and what I hope GTR2014 found.
It's just an idea that bugs us.
I hope none was really looking for a colony....

Well there is one possibility that hasn't been checked from what I have seen. Are we certain the UA's themselves are not the Meta Alloys everyone is looking for. Considering that from what we have seen they are the only object in the Galaxy that come close to the description. Also another possibility is that there is a way of making Meta alloys in the SRV that hasn't been discovered yet. The reference to "parts of the Galaxy may also mean a reference to a place that spaceships go to die, eg salvage missions or shipwrecks that are as yet undiscovered. If say a floating UA was to have entangled with a wrecked ship in space, is it possible that they are then able to spawn into a new form consuming the debris field.

So many possibilities so little time. o7

And I thought I would just link this as well. It seems other people have all the luck finding the weird and wonderful.

Not hard to find had about 8 or 9 planets with glowing green stuff on them. look greatr from the darkside.

Gamma Velorum is in the game, but it's permit locked in the Regor sector, 1000ly away.
Blooming galmap i did a search for it yesterday and it did not come up.

So does anybody know of a Wolf-rayet star that's not permit locked?

Edit: the people trying to match the background in the vid to whats in the game should be aware there are 3-5 different planets on that trailer, with no reason that they are from the same system.

Due to how the SSS/USS/WSS mechanisms work, no. It's certainly not unexpected.
It's the same type for other kinds of spawns in other parts of space.

Molan Ryke just told me over TS, he landed there as well. There was some interesting article for the station, posted on Steam he tell's me:

EDIT: NOTE - This is a Player-submitted article, not lore unfortunately. Sorry for the confusion. Thanks to Sigon for pointing this out.
The Quince herald: whats going on out there?
A small expedition to Sagittarius A* recently returned to civilized space with a startling tale.

"something is not right out there" said kyle klasky, the expedition leader. He claimed his group had experienced several incidents during their trip that could not be easily explained away.

"we've all seen shipwrecks before", he said "but we found them quite frequently on this trip. not just single ships, either, but several at a time. i suppose it could be pirates, but i find it difficult to believe.

"we also noticed high-energy wake signatures near black holes on more than one occasion. Maybe they were from other explorers, but how many times does it have to happen before it stops being a coincidence?"

Critics have dismissed klasky testimony, but he has insisted on its veracity, saying: "if you don't believe me, go and see for yourself!"

Molan, tell us if you land then, if the article is still there?

Oh er, all the hairs on the back of my neck just stood on end.
Yes, the article is still on the Quince bulletin board. I find it interesting because of a document written by Carl Sagan in 1983. This might have been mentioned before, but i will post the link here. https://www.loc.gov/resource/mss85590.099/?sp=1
He was so forward thinking. hmm 1983 elite was in 84.

Do Unknown Artifacts act as Unknown Permits? There are so many systems that are either (Requires Unknown Permit} or (Requires )

This was the very first theory. Gets checked on the nearby permits every release. AFAIK has never been checked with the BLIEU permits. Too far for a sane commander
