yes.. seeing this Sat gave me an ideia.

I've just discovered that if you stay out of the "red zone" nearby a planet, you can spawn USS , WSS and SSS in orbit... maybe i can find a sat in orbit?!

I'm goin for Merope try it out.

Technically you're still in 'normal' supercruise, so yes, it does spawn SSS/USS/WSS. As you say, perhaps it's possible to get a bit additional types of events while in orbit.

I think this has been mentioned before but I don't recall what the answer was.

Was following a medical transport ("cargo secure, I guess") and after a few jumps, we ended next to a star. Cruising around in normal space, the ship simply disappears. No wake or anything. Is this simple the "end" of the ship's route? Or is it a bug, or maybe a clue?

Something else to think about... During a few supercruise drops seemingly in the middle of nowhere, I follow the wake, and drop next to some type of astronomical object...even though we were 40,000ls from one during supercruise. What's up with that?

I had a similar thing happen with a disappearing medical convoy but was at a sss close to a planet at the time. I asked if anyone else had seen it but got burried in the threadnought. I was not in cruise, I was in the instance and literally watched them disappear in front of me. Bug or not it's weird.

There's something I don't understand. When you guys say the UA scans the nearest object and spits it out in morse code, what is the sound for the morse code, that quick chatter you can hear next to it between the whaling? or something else

What the..... i just got here in merope and got a really stragen bug/fenomena... when i get clos to the planet , it became PITCH black....

will up a video...

Yes, it happens almost everytime.
I followed my last convoy yesterday: first jumped in a close system, then in SC until it exited close to an outpost, then jumped again to another system, losing the escort completely, becoming a lone python. Exited again in front of a second outpost, then jumped to the first system again. I followed it towards another outpost, when it SUDDENLY DISAPPEARED from the scanner. It seem to do a round trip around 2 or 3 systems, then it disappears. I did it many times, and I'm stopping here.
They simply "wait" for you to pick their cargo. If you don't do it, they vanish. That's all.

Yes. Here you can find my complete collection of the MORSE alphabet the UA is using:

Further to my earlier post.

I found the following systems on the Galactic Map. They all have the star type: B7 IVa
And they are all relatively near a nebula - I plan on going out to each in turn, but if anyone is near any of these...

Rosette Sector DL-Y E0
Monkey Head Sector DL-Y E1
NGC 7822 Sector DL-Y E3
Seagull Sector BA-A E4

I did find 2 others but they had other stars in them.

Interesting facts.
Not all the Nebulas have Class B stars let alone B7 IV systems.
A lot of the B class star systems also had Neutrons and Black Holes in them - which is handy if you're looking for these.
There does seem to be a E number pattern. I wonder where xxx E2 is.

Well I decided that even without the mission, the payout being around 450k it couldn't be any further than 500 Ly from the core, So I went to HIP84706, an unremarkable system, with one landable planet. I bumped into a POI guarded by a goliath (killed my srv), I couldn't see what they were guarding but It never happened to me before. Maybe there is something down there after all.

I've found both human-made like POIs, guarded by Skimmers, and USS/WSS and Wreckages very far away from the bubble.

The Coalsack is one of this places where SS spawns in SC. I've found many isolated systems, ~1000Ly far away from Sol, spawning SS.
I've entered a Wreckage and there was a System Authority Vessel there: Authority in a random unpopulated System.
So "immersion breaking" ... :(
I would like to think of some "secret operations" going on in these places. But... well... no.

I wonder where XX-A E0 is :)

Nothing necessarily exciting, but thought I'd share...

Was out just past the Witch Head Nebula, on my way to Orion Nebula, brestroke my SRV through inattention (oops), had to head back to MAIA for restock :(

On the way back, I came across MU TAURI. Class B, and second planet is 2.79G, pretty hot, landable and 100% metal. It's also a Shell System. Have taken UA to planet (came in a little too hot...) and am sitting watching it purr in a crater.

Anyway, just thought it might be a useful planet to know as it's the first I've come across with high G, hot, 100% metal, B star and is shell planet.

Running long term observation of UA now, while trying to get the dents out of the landing gear... I might post the vid of the landing at some point just to amuse.

2 meters from the ground turn off the thrsters :p

Thank god...

you need some balls to go in a planet that dark...

Exploring this is not for the faint-hearted..

BTW

More bad news for those trying to find the location of that base from the trailer.

The little nebula poking its head over the mountain range isn't the spinning top extra galactic one. Looked at the trailer frame by frame, at about frame 700 as the camera moves, the nebula pops out from behind the hill and it isn't the one we think it is from the other stills. With that gone and not really being able to determine which little nebula it actually is,,,and no other points of reference other than the general look of Bernard's Loop,,,

"It's dead Jim."

About the shell...

Has it always been the size it currently is? (130-150LY?) If not, is it expanding of contracting? Is the shell zone getting thicker/deeper?

Are UAs only found in the shell zone, or have they been found further inside or outside?

The only UA I've found was in the shell (~144LY), and I sat and looked at it for some time without touching it, and with the ship stationary. I want to see if it was drifting, but it seemed to be static. When I nudged it with the front of the ship, it reoriented towards Merope quite quickly (within 5 seconds, I'd say).

Just trying to get a handle on this shell, and on how the UAs form it. If they aren't moving, and if the shell isn't expanding or contracting, then that would suggest that they have been placed where they are, or moved to a position and stopped.

is that the UA shell?

On the subject of green places, this was taken on Pleione 6, near Merope...

Pleione 6 from SRV.jpg

What struck me when I took that was that the sky looks a tad greenish. It was taken in daylight (I was there to look for rarer metals). Might be worth going back and checking it the dark side to see how it looks.

fron the edge of habited space, I went first for 400 LY and i'll push to 500LY.

To give some info on structures (found a new one I had not flown into yet) this is what it looks like on the scanner.

HIP 84706 (20160103-231612).png

Btw 24 Ophiuchi looks a lot like merope

1.2 UA in Convoys going round the Bubble
1.3 UA free floating inside or very close to Pleiades Nebula (HR 1172, HR 1185 and other systems: see the Wiki)
1.4 UA in the actual shell (135-150Ly from Merope, and pointing to Merope), no more in 1.3 systems.
2.0 few days ago we found there are still UA convoys out there (HIP 15609).
