What's happened to Robigo?

haha people rep you for saying that? Couldnt disagree more. What you stated is simply your opinion and not a fact. Maybe thats how you see the game and compare yourself to others, I just want balance in the game, for myself, my own game play. Dont make me work 100's of hours, to get the best trade ship so i can make the most income, and then introduce a game mechanic that makes that ship obsolete, by allowing me to buy one of the least expensive ships and make twice as much. Where in the world is the balance? Makes me frustrated as hell.

It would be like playing an RPG like Skyrim working for 100's of hours to get some amazing sword and then they introduce a wooden stick, that takes no effort to acquire, no special requirements, you just go to the store, buy it for next to nothing and it has double the stats of the sword you spend 100's hours working for. Wouldnt you be like what the <really>? Just a little bit?

You hear nerf, but what most people are yelling out is, "fix the game".

If you didn't know about these runs, would it have any impact on YOUR gameplay? No, none whatsoever.
If you didn't read the forums you wouldn't know robigo existed, let alone the payouts.

If this bugs you ,then it's really your problem, not Frontiers.
Other players making credits this way has absolutely no impact on your experience within the game.
If you are frustrated, that's unfortunate, for you.

Game balance? Never really see that one, ever. There are always perceived issues with every game out there.
If someone wants to be a gazillionaire by only running robigo and never interacting with the rest of the game, who are you to tell them ,"it isn't balanced" what you're doing is frustrating me.Pretty self absorbed actually.

Took the words right out of my mouth.

Slack vs Smuggling, chapter 2...

Seems you didn't have enough the first time, apparently you still feel your accomplishments are diminished by the other peoples games
How exactly do arrive at that conclusion when i specifically said " I just want balance in the game, for myself, my own game play". Why do you keep bringing other players into this? I couldnt care less how much you have in the bank or what ships you own. Seems to me that its about the only argument you can come up with and keep holding on to it. You certainly couldnt defend, that smuggling isnt out of balance in payouts vs other professions. So all you can do is point your finger and say I'm jealous.

you still feel compelled to decide how other people should play the game.
By speaking my mind and giving my opinion? By that same token, you are doing exactly the same thing by defending your position.

And its not "most people yelling fix the game", its really just you and a handful of others.
Are you just making things up in your head again and stating them as facts? You have any proof? I would bet you if its put to a poll, majority will vote that smuggling missions should be on par with other in game activities. In other words either bring the smuggling payouts down or bring the others up. I mean you really do have to be blind not to see the imbalance.

Good story, but you keep comparing yourself to other people. Let me give you my story.

Person A (me) gets a wonderful job as a space pilot, he is then told by person B (FD) that if you want to be rich and prosper you should get this big expensive ship. Person A spends months of time working hard toward the big ship and finally gets it. Person B then shows up and says BTW haha just kidding, you like totally wasted your time dude, you can just use this low end ship and make twice as much. That Cutter will give you half the income trading, and since its not good for combat just leave it parked in the hangar. Person A gives person B the middle finger...

Now that I think of it, how ironic that they would finally give us a huge, expensive trade ship, just have its "massive" trade income crushed by a little old ASP. Now its once again time for everyone to ignore the topic and say im just jealous XD

You literally just proved all of their points with this post.

Captin slow didn't even quote You.. or even allude to You being his intended target of his post.. he could have been just adding to the topic as a whole... but i digress..

slack vs smuggling round 3: persistent.. You seem to like the trashing huh..i give you that. but I award you no points and round 3 commences, the Cutter is not a dedicated han solo millennium falcon. in fact if You read the description and it's intended use as supplied By FD and what job You are suppose to bring it to, You would know it was a it's multipurpose Imperial warship.. and it's best use is mining... where? besides vaguely having anything besides the name cutter in it's name does this convey in the slightest :best smuggling ship.. what cause its expensive and big.. you don't bring a thermonuclear warhead to get rid of a ant infestation.. you bring the right tool for the job... of course a asp or small ship should make more per hour then a mini battle cruiser.. and on the other foot. i can tell You the Asp is no mini battle cruiser.

so no this topic won't be ignored.. You will. but not the topic

And yet another pointless reply that ignores the actual topic in my post which is the "balance" between professions in the game.

Oh and they say its a multipurpose warship huh? "warship"? And since it handles like a brick and pretty much just goes in a straight line, its a good idea to go into an asteroid field? Personally I much rather use the agile Conda for fraction of the price and get the job done quicker, in both Combat and Mining. But hey you go by what FD says and put a bunch of guns on it and start chasing Corvettes. Ill go by my own experience.

The Cutters real claim to fame are its huge shields and is its bulk trading capability, but since trading is pretty much obsolete its really not that great at anything. Mine sits parked in the hangar 99% of the time.

Edit: btw I agree to disagree, no round 4 XD

But wait! round four is free to enter.. i;ll go easy.. really man. look. I truthfully addressed the balance issues..balance wise.the cutter is a empire class ship.. the empire is not warlike. it's all about logistics and not so all out warlike as the feds. it a faction ship.. and yeah FD really sells it as a warship(idk man.. i just dunno)Empire... they are all about mining and trading.. trading is not smuggling..the main topic here in this thread is the shadow missions which aren't really smuggling per say either as they are a special type of smuggling... ya just got the wrong idea about the ship, the empire and a few other things. Trading... I have never really dedicated any time to.. but by the looks of researching some traders postings yeah it took a turn for the worse on profitability With trading. with smuggling(it's not a stealthy ship=not a smuggler.just no) so You see.. while yes there are payout issues and most if not all need better balancing.. the shadow missions when ran with the proper tool is what is and should be expected from the vocal Majority here in this topic. sigh free rounds all day and auto decline if ya want.. it's just a discussion man..

Good thing I'm checking stations before accepting; Kaku Plant is 1,233,592 LS into the system.

yes there are payout issues and most if not all need better balancing.

Now why is that so hard to say?

My theory is because all the people who are enjoying the big money, feel threatened that posts like mine could put an end to their gold rush. So they come in here and try to defend it, but the problem is they cant argue that the "shadow" missions are not out of balance, not if they can do math. So they are forced to insulting me directly and judging my character, how im a jealous person and only worry about what others do ect. Thats fine i can be their punching bag/anger release, but I'm not here to take anything away from them, or start an argument. Just pointing out the fact that these missions are out of balance, its plain to see.

Also the fact that you have to log in and out of the game seems quite odd if its supposed to be an in-game feature. Why dont they just add a refresh button?

ah You've calmed down significantly.good.grand... but whoa now.. it's the internet. don't take it to seriously if someone did call you jealous... don't let that get ya all blinded with range so You miss the valid points,,,

Yeah it is easy to say that payouts are way to broked for basically every mission... and really i don't think anyone here is disagreeing...but the point I'm trying to convey is You are comparing apples to oranges... trading is not smuggling... full stop. this is where Your disconnect here on the topic title begins i think.... who makes more cops or drug kingpins? a fully a speced cutter will with 700t of cargo MASSIVELY out profit a asp in trading... but smuggling is not trading at all. for various reasons one being speed is key and not being detected at all by the feds or pirates when operating correctly. the cutter.. is not suited for this... and vice versa. adapt! cmdr!

yes the log in /out thing is silly. give us a refresh... been asked for many times. FD needs to come to grips with it's not about making the game impossible /artificially difficult by gimping any profession or making one better then the other or by making it a grind and everything a chore to get.,, .. its about making it enjoyable for everyone so we stay the course for 9 more dang years,,, ie making it so people have to grind for months= bad for business in the long run.

we all get it.. ya saw the cutter. ya thought it was the endgame. the god ship that does it all and makes you space milkshakes while you wait for it to do it while catching up on the forums,,, but FD wants you to use all 20 ships at different times for different jobs.. . while you cutter sits unused in a hanger when it was the fave of your fleet.. we get it. it's clear in the posts and i can see why your missing some points... I'm sympathizing with You atm and granting you a reprieve from round five. deep breath and say it with me.. " a trader is not a smuggler, as traders deal in legal goods. smuggling is the dealing of illegal goods that come with more risk/reward and is like comparing pirates on the high seas and what they make to the "(ok lol the risk is low if you know what you're doing.. but hey its the concept that matters.. the lore) add more zeros to all the things i say..

Other players making credits this way has absolutely no impact on your experience within the game.

Actually, it DOES - depending on what another player chooses to purchases with their credits.

If it a fleet of Sidewinder: no impact. If it's an A-rated Cutter hunting other players: definite impact.

In any case, I'm heading to Robigo tonight. And not to run any missions... so - hope you know how to deal with PvP with pilots that have zero interest in your cargo. ;)

Of course that's simply my opinion and not a fact. :)

This has to be the most asinine, response ever.
I'm a big tough boy, really?
Are you actually trying to sound tough in a forum?
I guess i should quit ED right now as you're there, and i could never enjoy myself with your amazing prowess as a hunter.
Do you actually think anyone who knows about dinks like you would play in open around robigo.

This will forever be a link whenever someone says why do people play solo, or why isn't there more people in open. It's because of people like you.

Whats the matter? Not enough new people coming out for you to grief in their sidewinders?
I know, I'll get them while they can't fight back, waiting to be released in the dock.

So on another post someone says they take their cutter to 17 Draconis for long range, high volume goods missions and makes a hell of a lot more than an Asp on a smuggling run.

Just saying

So you gave all the reasons why smuggling should pay more... basically to cut down on your long winded example, more risk should get a higher reward... hmmmm how about this one, I think a trader had to put a hell of a lot more work into buying his ship (a lot more) so I say more work higher reward!! Why would the smuggler get rewarded for his extra efforts, but the trader doesnt?

Now which should get the higher reward? Spending 100's of hours to get a ship you can perform a specific task with? Or a ship that requires no effort to buy, but you have a slightly higher risk using it(and like you said, "the risk is low if you know what you're doing"). I have a feeling most people would value the 100's of hours of their life more. But lets give you the benefit of the doubt and say they are on par.. Why the heck would smuggling make double?

As for your patronizing comment "say it with me, smuggling isnt trading" a smuggler makes more because he deals with illegal goods, ok fine lets give you that, but shouldnt the trader be able to offset this by dealing with significantly higher volume? And if you want to bring up real world examples, the delivery boy for a cartel certainly isnt getting rich, its the kingpin, the one in control of the entire corporation. You know how much a large mining company can make? Or sure the cartel is selling drugs for 1000's per pound and fedx only makes a few cents per delivery, but it turns out since they deliver more than just a few packages, it easily makes up for it.

It took me from 1984 till the 4th of December 2015 to get to Elite in something at last. I think that qualifies as a grind and do I care how anyone else gets there not one iota.

If you can do it in a week good on you, it makes no difference to me I have all the big ships and there all A rated. The outcome of any interaction if we are comparable is pilot skill not I have the biggest gun, so till that day.

If you have more money than me who cares, more ships who cares, wasted less of your life, well might be a bit envious of that :)

I don’t validate my existence in the game by how much stuff I have, or how long it took to get. I validate it by the enjoyment I get playing my way.

To mangle Mr Macklemore’s recent lyric

I’m enjoying what I do
So chill the redacted out
And mow your dammed lawn.
