Hi there,

If one of you guys is actually participating in this blockade, could you please explain me what is the point here?

Don't get me wrong, PvP is what I enjoy the most and have actually dedicated the last couple of days to hunt other commanders wearing the flag of my enemies (PowerPlay) at some of the most popular bounty farming spots. All of my preys were outfitted for combat and I don't engage anything smaller than an Asp / Master rank (with a few exceptions). Before I open fire I also systematically (with a few exceptions) send a macro explaining my motivations.

But this blockade at Obsidian...for what is it exactly? Don't you want to get the answer of this damn alien stuff? What kind of preys are you targeting? Could you please kindly explain in what chasing off players outfitted for exploration is worth?

Pretty much what they're saying is that they're an animal rights group posing a concern about how we explorers are damaging the "ecosystem" of the barnacles. They sound like traitors to me.

Hi can some one give me a hand with a ship build.

In order of priority

1) Fighting in a power play expansion
2) Search for Unknown Artefacts and Barnacles (gathering some exploration data on the side)
3) Exploring the surface of planets for materials and Barnacles
4) Doing missions for a local faction - probably long range smuggling.

Some changes : 7D distro and 6A PP, reinforced bulkheads for better FSD range (16-17 lyr), 2MC for taking down ship hull better, and one plasma because it is fun (and good vs large targets).
Auto repair class4 is enough, class 6 SCB's (class 3 and 4 are really weak compared to class 6).
Hull package in class 4, as these are very good in low class modules.
Class 5 fuel scoop, class 6 cargo (it'll be better for missions).

It's not the best combat ship ever, but it can move (FSD) and carry stuff while packing a punch.

As a FYI, I travelled to Maia last night in my 'exploration' FdL (43 goshdarned jumps from Jameson Memorial! Bonus: delayed for 3 hours mid-way due to last night's goshdarned server outage!).

What makes my FdL an 'exploration' FdL is the inclusion of a Vehicle Hangar Bay.

I'll be exploring in and around the Pleaides nebula (have been doing so recently in an Asp)

But I'll also be keeping a lookout for these seal-clubbers. I don't think I have much chance 4v1, but at least if you see an FdL and it's my CMDR name, do note that I'm not one of the morons involved in the seal-clubbing. In fact, they'll be getting a class 4 cannon in the face (as well as accelerated plasma and laserbeams).

Fly safe CMDR's o7

Let me fix that

Pretty much what they're saying is that they're a greifer group posing a concern about how we explorers are helping the future of the game along. They sound like grifers to me.

Perhaps Barnacles would latch onto already weakened areas of planet surfaces.
Craters offer melted down metals and other potential resources:

It's under a bogus reason to justify griefing behavior from the Dreaming Bear Assembly (or something)
It's just pure and simple Turkey Shooting, nothing more.
They have fun like that.
I was watching a livestream of one of the blockaders, and there were a bunch of them talking on voice chat. They openly admit to just being trolls and griefers and that the RP justification they had on Reddit was nonsense.
[...]some ridicule gankers who came with well equiped ship to shoot unarmed ship and feel amazing of killing defenceless ship. The distance from civilisation make sure no too much true pvpers will come and shoot their ass.
Damn, I'd love to help cleansing the area of these lame turkey shooters but indeed, Obsidian is too far and, unless FD implements fast travel, I don't have the time to move my armored ship over there.

Pretty much what they're saying is that they're an animal rights group posing a concern about how we explorers are damaging the "ecosystem" of the barnacles. They sound like traitors to me.
Oh well, at least they put a bit of roleplay to their silly actions... :)

Hy I've around this thread for a while and now decided to register and post an idea.

I saw a post mentioning that some tried to destroy an UA on a planet, did you saved the coordinates of it's destruction?
What if the UA's are indeed barnacle seeds but they need time to grow?

Can somebody please PM me the names of the griefers at maia, i'm docked at obsidian orbital and have a random friend request in game, just need to keep myself safe.

someone earlier in the thread said that the glyphs on the UA's could be a datebased co-ordnit system based off of the Mayan Stela, Well, No matter how you push and squeeze it, It doesnt make a true stela.
Here is what I did to get some dates from the 1300's and the 1100's. But, It seems to me like grabbing at straws.
Maybe someone smarter than I can take a look at it?

That's actually kind of interesting, as they do indeed resemble Mayan numbers. The translation is off though, e.g. a six is a dash with one dot on top, not two rows of three dots. And the pyramid shape may be a zero. Not sure what to make of it though as it's not always clear where the numbers separate vertically and it seems even in the most conservative case you end up with really big numbers.
