Guys.. just a confirmation here:

Barnacle at JC-U 20.86 , 91.73 took down systems of an Anaconda that happened to CRASH 40km away from that barnacle (me and my friends here each other in one point) and the conda is rooted dat 21.93 , 96.98 .

Sooooo that's why stuff have been malfunctioning.

Barnacle sound analysis & Other experiments

Well guys, hello there!!

I had to rush to Merope 5C to see that. I have performed a few observations:

1) When you shoot the organic structures they will release different materials (Iron, manganese, phosphorus, and other stuff). Although they don´t seem to be destroyed, eventually they will crack down and reduce their size.
2) No apparent data obtained through the turret scanner.
3) Shooting the central structure doesn´t change anything. Seriously. We did bombard it with 4 ships shooting plasma accelerators at it. Nothing. Niet. Rien de rien.
4) Rammin the structure doesn´t do anythin (Hey, we had to try, right?)

You can download both files. If you take a look to the accelerated one, you will realize that there are horns, wails, crackles and so on. The structure of the sound seems quite different from the unknown artifacts, but it actually keeps some similarities.

I'm off to check some of the other Nebulas outside the bubble and probably go back to NGC 7822 for another look to see if there are any barnacles in them but not in the FDL, 40 jumps for 300 Ly trip is just about bearable to Maia.

My client just crashed, come back into the game at the site in my SRV and and no Merope 5c barnacle???

Was it all a dream?

I don't know if this is a common bug or not but when I was at the barnacle site I suddenly received module damage on everything after a while. And it wasn't even slowly dealing damage. I also have a recording of it thanks to shadowplay, but before I go trough the trouble of uploading it I wanna know if it's a known bug or something to do with the barnacle. I also had no cargo with me or didn't use silent running and was standing still so heat and corrosion are out of question.

Other CMDRs nearby? Maybe a case of accidental impact damage?

So finding another barny near the conda pretty much confirms that barnacles can be found in the brighter colored canyons on planets. I had applied that thought process on Pleione 4 a few times since there are green canyons everywhere but never found anything. Now might be a good chance to find one.

Of course we couldnt have found it yesterday so we could have all gone on the DWE.:p

Logged out back into open, still no barnacle, same with solo and private Canonn group?


I see no players either that were there before.

I have a feeling this is either not a static POI or something has gone terribly wrong.

Sadly I'm not sure those frequencies are anything to get excited about. They seem to just be octaves. Notes seem to be A and E... maybe F. Most likely nothing there, though.

Edit: If you look at it, you get the pattern 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3, 3.5, 4, 4.5, etc. all with respect to the original 27.8ish frequency.
