The issue with this is that every planet that they're on isn't tidally locked. That means they won't always be pointing towards the star.
I'm now full and about to head back to varati, been in open near crashed conda and haven't seen an other cmdr yet

So the barnacle is directly aligned towards the sun on a tidally locked planet?
Edit: Now i'm woozy. Were they on tidally locked planets or not?
Now if that is a method to find 'em, with the hinting of the UA aligning with the sun,
this deserves some extra facepalms! DUH!

Not going to work I'm afraid - Merope 5C is tidally locked to Merope 5, not Merope. P-Sector JC-U B3-2 planet 1 is tidally locked to planet 2, not the main star.

Hmm but to have a chance to "see the sun" in a zenith like on the vids a barnacle has to be within a certain
zone of latitude right, depending on the tilt of the body the are on righto?
Checking the first post, most barnies are within the 20ish latitude
with one exception.

No really, this sounds all reasonable. From day 1.0 I was wondering why there is no Thargoid tech found in ED. No crash sites, no salvage. Did it decompose or got collected for further analysis.

Ok, so if the meta alloys counter the station degradation, could they and the UAs have DIFFERENT sources - i.e two different alien races in competition?
Has anyone let a UA scan them with MA's in the 'hold?
