The 65000 LY from Sol Club

You're right. I was pretty much pushing against the west edge all the way up.

The only 'advantage' with jumponium could be if you want to go west without tracking east a little bit. The furthest West I got was -3753 while I started the crossing at -1543. No clue if it's possible to track straight down from IORASP ZK-P D5-1, or how much jumponian it's going to involve to go 5 kly South from that point. It would probably be faster to travel that extra 2k ly than to farm all the needed materials. Yet who knows, maybe there is something to be found in between the arms :)

Btw, has a T-9 managed to get to Beagle point yet? 19ly range with boost, should be possible.

Got to admit that I'm a little bemused at the very idea of finding a route further west. Seriously, what's the point? The northern end of Svenno's Crossing is all but at the very western end of the northern rim, even with Jumponium. So exactly where do people want to cross from and to with a more westerly route?

The way I see it is that the important routes are:
- the most westerly of all (Svenno's Crossing fulfils this)
- typical Anaconda (easy enough via the meridian line)
- typical Asp (Beagle Crossing)
- 30 LY range (not yet documented)
- 25 LY range (Roncevaux Crossing)
- 20 LY range (not yet discovered)

Possibly the most useful of all would be for someone to document a route close to the meridian line that would utilise as small jumps as possible, similar to what I did with the approach to Beagle Point. If such a route is possible without significant amounts of Jumponium then it would be a massive help to anyone flying less than an Anaconda.

For me it was just b/c I was in a hurry to get there m8, I'm about 1/3rd of the way back now. I have a fleet to catch after handing in !

Edit If you didn't know ,I left Lembava on 3rd Jan :)

Hi Folks

Update on my progress, shortly passing 52,000ly from Sol. I'm planning on making the Abyss crossing via Roncevaux. (CMDR Zatie)

We should be rather close (in crazy distances speaking) to each other. I'm 53k LY from Sol and under 14k LY from Beagle Point.

If you like, you can add me and we might see green spots in the area again. ;) (cmdr psychofish)

Edit: I signed off at 55k from Sol 11k to BP - Hope I can find a crossing.

Update: 60K light years!

I am currently crossing the abyss, near Svenno crossing with a mere 34 light year jump range. I will soon be at beagle point!

Crossing the Abyss has been difficult, but I am near the end of it, I am sure.

So like I said, I left the Bubble before Horizons rolled out, so I could barely make it past the 65k line. Luckily for me, though, my good friend CMDR Aybkamen happened to be in the neighbourhood:

I had just bought Horizons, so we both headed down to the planet to collect some Jumponium. Aybkamen very helpfully found the materials for me in his SRV, so I could go get them in my Asp (I knew I brought those lasers this far for something). That gave me enough oomph to make it to Beagle Point!

There he is, jumping around in his SRV!

BONUS: Some kickin' rad deep-space SRV jumps

CMDR Martin Afonso here, jumping down the Scutum Centaurus arm in my non-stop circumnavigation of the Milky Way along the rim. I'm planning to cross to the Far Galactic Rim at the Beagle Crossing and take a small detour to Beagle Point, I'm hoping to make that final jump with my 33.05-ly pre-Horizons Asp, DSV "Samantha Carter", and join this amazing group of explorers. I'll reach the crossing in about three weeks from now on, currently 53000 lyrs from Sol.

PS Sorry for my bad english.

Unfortunately Beagle Point requires just one jump with 33,4. That doesn't mean you can't have a blast time in the Far out Rim, and neither that you cannot become club member since the requirement is to cross the 65K line, that can be done with 25LY or maybe less. So I encourage you to visit the Far Rim and will put you in the incoming list.

Next Update will be Monday

He can easily lose a few tonnes of fuel to make the jump. My Asp has a 33-35 LY range (without jumponium). Good luck, Commander!

I DID IT! Huzzah! I have arrived at beagle point!

Me and 4 guests.

I made it through Svenno crossing with a 34 Light year jump range. Here is the album of evidence: http://imgur.com/a/ZAVAu

I left with 8 SRVs, 20 Fuel limpets and a lot of Netflix.

I arrived with 7 SRVs, 9 Fuel limpets, 4 Escape pods and 80% Hull. I lost some limpets from a malfunctioning cargo hatch and the SRV fell of a 7km high cliff.

To future explored I say this, go around the abyss if you have less than 41 light years in jump range. It will drive you mad.

I will be meeting up with CMDR Rusticolus tomorrow as well!

Does this mean CMDR Rusticolus you are well enough again to travel: )
Please PM me and we'll try to see if we can meet up as well.

@all: I'm currently sitting about 100LY short of Beagle point, with 31LY range so stuck. Anyone care for a meet up tomorrow, please let me know!

So I presume you've come across a lot of Barefoot Bandit tagged systems? That would have been me getting stuck the same way...

Bloody. Hell.
I didn't think the crossing would be so though.
Currently 59k ly out, stuck. I've made just 700 ly in a whole day.

I'm considering turning back and try to cross from another point. If only I could find my way back, of course.
I never managed to get Captain's log and the like to work on my pc.
Oh well.

Yeah - it can get tough out there! You can warn people all you want, but until they experience it for themselves, it's not quite the same!

What are you flying?
