When I real barnacles, I thought miners lol
What are these things? Obviously Im new
Love it... Can't rep atm - on phone![]()
this is a large part of the reason why I went down the path of trying to find the barnacles' habitable zone...To shrink the haystack significantly. I added a bunch of data points last night, but I still need more, esp. for hot stars like B and O.
I found a B star with planets in the barnacle's 194-379K temperature range. Star temperature was 10,140K, candidate planets were between 1876 to 3465 ls out from the star.
I really wish we knew how rare they were before we give up on one nebula for another.
Does anyone have any notion of how close to the nebula the planet should be? I'm at NGC 1333 and there are plenty of planets that are reasonable candidates, but nothing is actually in the nebula according to the galaxy map, but there are many within 5-10 LY.
Say you manage to reduce the possibilities by 99%.. That still means that it would take 500 players, searching 8 hours per day : 773 years
This quote makes me think of the joke about the dog with no nose![]()
I can only say that we need to find a pattern to the "parts of space" to reduce it by 99.99% then.
So far, these are my observations:
-In or around nebula
-Mild surface temperature planets (194-379K)
-Low-gravity planets (But I'm not convinced of this one)
-Non-icy planets (icy planets are not likely to have mild temps anyway, nor do they have mineral deposit zones)
-Within "mineral deposit" colored zones
-Flat-bottomed, deep canyons, with sandy looking ground, fairly close to the walls
On Pleione 11A, there is really only one area that matches this part:
-within "mineral deposit" colored zones
AND
-flat-bottomed, deep canyons
...which is where the barnacles are. Yes there are several colored zones and several canyons, but when I was looking at the barnacle area from orbit, it does look unique, but it's very subtle.
But it in the other nebulae we might not be looking for barnacles, maybe stations or outposts or farms that are in completely different locations.... Anyway I am not convinced that the answer we are looking for is not much closer to home
Hello fellas.
Meaby it is nothing but this is what i have discovered at barnacle in Merope system.
The notes between the purrs/rumbles are of equal length and at notes B, C, C#. Suggesting a code based on 3 as opposed to 2.
The table is very useful, but the graph - correlation != causality , so I would be careful about this one.![]()
Has anyone tried overlapping both the UA and Barnacle sounds? Both soundtracks could be two pieces of a puzzle.
For example, do the tuba sounds on the UAs and the Barnacle happen at the exact same intervals?
Maybe they actually complete some kind of "tune".
It's helpful but it only includes the up close sounds, not the sounds from a distance which for at least the barnacle is very different.
The long range sound on the barnacle is what I found most helpful. Those of us exploring have just been driving for days with no luck.
I don´t think so. We have a couple of bugs now, and who really knows what we are missing here.
All we really need is a posting like:
"Hey Commanders, you can be sure that we have implemented a storyline regarding that barnacle-stuff, and you can be sure it is working cause we triple-checked it. And yes, it´s YOUR choice, we don´t have to trigger something manually, its already there - its all in the commanders hands."
Thats all I need to continue. Otherwise I will not waste my time, sorry.
Does anyone have a link to the sound of the signal barnacles give off on the wave scanner?
