Haven't run across himself yet, however my asp was blown up just after landing by CMDR Nomad Enigma. Leaving my srv stranded on 5C. No warning or anything. Gutter swine!

Nicely done! I entered your info for you. Credited your post too with a link. FYI if you find any more the entry form is here (it's dead easy):

Ah that reminds me. I found a floating barnacle on Pleaides Sector JC-U B3-2 1, but it was relatively close to the others being found so I didn't think it was newsworthy.

It's only floating because it's on uneven terrain. I'd say it's a bug in the height placement rather than some new development :) I've seen some floating buildings too where they've been on uneven terrain.

A word of caution with this one though. When I shot off the meta alloy, it rolled under the barnacle. I was nearly unable to retrieve it without some struggling with the SRV against the barnacle, well.... let's just say, if some system authority had been passing by I would have had to say "it's not what it looks like officer!".

Edit: Submitted it to the spreadsheet

Woo Hoo! I think I just found my first new barnacle! It's another one on Pleiades Sector JC-U B3-2 1 so no huge revelation I'm afraid but I've checked the spreadsheet and it doesn't seem to be on there. The co-ordinates are -21.2740, -85.6115. I'm not sure how to add to the spreadsheet so if someone can stick it on I'd appreciate it.

Right time to continue the hunt, fly safe commanders o7

That one is definately lopsided... Someone (sorry for not remembering who) theorised that it also pointed to somewhere. Is there more to that theory.
Should we observe this one to see if the angle changes? (or maybe someone already did that?)

edit: well looking again I see that it's not on level ground. Still that means that it tries to point straight up or to something?

It's worth reporting this as a bug if you haven't already. Seeing the state of the underside is a real immersion breaker :)

Just took this shot at the site of the 3 Barnacles on PS JC-U B3-2 2

Dont know if its worth mentioning, but the symbol that looks like a Nebula on the Barnacle, will be or has, lined up with the actual Nebula seen here just above the crater rim. I believe that is the correct Nebula?

Also the MA branches would have been aligned at some point too, if as Obsidian Ant mentioned, they are some kind of 'Henge' (as in Stonehenge) ?

He's a wizard at shooting up unarmed explorers.

I know - I want to be in *his* gang so much, I think he's amazing...

Many envy! Very skill!

His name deserves to be up in lights! Or his ship, anyway...

That's not a nebula, but the LMC unless I'm mistaken.

We all know that they are a fraud.
The only persons they have ever fouled are themselves.
They want to shoot at things ? No one said you need to be their victims.
You want to shoot at things ? They are painted targets waiting to be shoot at.
All it matters is what WE want to do when WE are in the mood to do it for fun.

What does LMC stand for? just looked on galaxy map and it does indeed appear to be outside the Milky Way.

Thats the Large Magellanic Cloud

-----edit-----

its a a nearby galaxy, I think Derthek or one of the other Canonneers has suggested this could be the origin point for barnacles/nebula. Personally I hope not, otherwise how are we ever going to nuke them in the inevitable war?

I'm still thinking that the barnacles didn't originate from the Pleiades...and that wrecked 'Conda with all the barnacles around it is why. My theory is that the conda was out exploring somewhere beyond the Pleiades, encountered a planet full of barnacles, picked a bunch up, and then had a failure on the way home causing it to crash and spew barnacle seeds all over the place. From that, they've started expanding out and taking over the planet, and nearby planets/systems (perhaps the event that caused the crash spread seeds into the space around the conda, letting them spread?).

So...where could it have been coming from? That's another thing to look at...where did it come from, and where was it heading?
