Thats the same guy who got me as well...i think we should start doing something against these unlawful space criminals.

There is another thread already discussing what to do about this. Two days ago a wing has been to merope 5c to take action on griefers.
We didn't succed yet because of missing fire power, but we will come back and bring others with us. Hopefully at least tier 1 can be accomplished, but it doesn't look too good.

Maybe meta-alloys and crafting will allow us to build a galactic jump drive? (Even in the original Elite, I never got to play in other galaxies. It would be fun if they open that up to go proper barnacle hunting).

I'm still thinking that the barnacles didn't originate from the Pleiades...and that wrecked 'Conda with all the barnacles around it is why. My theory is that the conda was out exploring somewhere beyond the Pleiades, encountered a planet full of barnacles, picked a bunch up, and then had a failure on the way home causing it to crash and spew barnacle seeds all over the place. From that, they've started expanding out and taking over the planet, and nearby planets/systems (perhaps the event that caused the crash spread seeds into the space around the conda, letting them spread?).

So...where could it have been coming from? That's another thing to look at...where did it come from, and where was it heading?

Well it needs something to tie it up, because currently it's a struggle to understand why a probable alien entity would just roll up and arbitrarily plonk a few barnies on a couple of planets in the Pleiades when they must've passed many suitable places just to get there.

Apologies if this has been discussed before, but what's the algorithm used to translate the morse omitted by UAs? Has anyone tried feeding the layout of the Barnacle sites into it to see what morse comes out?

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORING!

Why do you think I asked if anyone else had done it‽ ;-)

That's assuming they move through space in straight lines. Don't make me quote Event Horizon.

During Braben's quiz on the 24hr livestream he said there'll be no other galaxies.

Opened up the barnacles sheet so that anyone can comment and offer their thoughts or correct data.
I hope I won't regret it. I'll try to resolve as many comments on data as i can.

Also as a bonus me and Panzertard have added thumbnails for each planet/star! Formulas ftw!

This allows lurkers who aren't signed up to the forums or google plus to contribute in some way.
Thanks and happy hunting!

"Meta-Alloys seem to heal the troubled Stations (assuming the UA causing the issues)." - copied from the front page.

Do we know if meta-alloys cancel out the damage caused by UAs carried on board a ship. Has anyone tested this by carrying both at the same time ?

The presence of meta-alloys does nothing.

Perhaps after Palin has found a cure and we get crafting in 2.1, we'll be able to carry UA's and not suffer from malfunctions/damages after using meta-alloys to craft something.

Yeah... hard to glean any info from an un-ordered set of coordinates. Here's lat/lon; you can play Scrabble with the letters if you like :p. As for galactic coordinates of the stars they inhabit...not sure how to obtain numbers for that, but might be interesting to plot.

I was patrolling earlier on today. Unfortunately I did not come across anyone causing trouble bar one Python who looked to be doing a similar job as me. For some reason he took it on himself to ram me, I guess he saw me as a threat.

Just a heads up. But some CMDRs on the Distant Worlds voyage are experiencing temporary "eclipses" while driving on the surface of planets as if a large ship was passing between them and the shadow casting star in the system.

I am out here in my battle 'Conda should you or anyone else run into trouble and need backup

Am hoping for the same thing myself :)

I know - I want to be in *his* gang so much, I think he's amazing...

Many envy! Very skill!

His name deserves to be up in lights! Or his ship, anyway...

Yeah great RP angle right? 'We are here to protect the site from you reckless scientists but first imma shoot the barnacle wiv mah lazor'.

Did zoltan just go doje on me?

Much meme, so post, wow.

There is no doubt though the swollen duck clan, or whatever their name is, is incredibly skilled. I mean they avoid fair fights because they'd get their tail kicked, straight skill.

I've been playing in open and haven't seen them, not sure if that's because of time zone or because they aren't trying hard enough.
