when i start the game client i get this error after the Elite Dangerous logo:

The launcher login works fine, i reinstalled the program several times (first i used the custom install location "hack", maybe that was a mistake? It is now in its "proper" location), disabled firewall and antivirus etc.

It did work when i gave it a quick spin at work shortly before i went home, maybe it is not allowed to install it on more than one computer?

Check your firewall on your Windows machine isn't asking (pop up window sometimes appears behind the launcher) for the client to be allowed access through the firewall..

You upgraded from Standard to Premium, how did you do that? I've tried adding the premium beta to my basket but it still shows £100. I pledged £90 in the kickstarter and as long as it's only another £10-£20 to get premium beta I'd be there in seconds :)

I allowed access for the game when that popup came up, also deactivated the firewall, used a different router (standalone router instead of my linux-server/router box), sadly with no change.

But i just got it to work on my secondary machine (Vista, Dualcore, GTX 260). for some reason the game does not like my primary PC (Win 7, Quadcore, GTX 760). At least that rules out router issues.

Seems i messed up when i installed first with that install-location-hack, is there a way to completely remove all traces of the alpha? I have the feeling just uninstalling would not be enough...

It should show up at the checkout, so it's a leap of faith to there. If it doesn't show up, bail on the transaction and e-mail support@zaonce.net.

I've changed install locations without issue. If you want to take off and nuke the site from orbit then find where you put the FD folder and delete all the contents.

Seems i found the problem - the game did not like my ipv6 setup (i only have a private ipv6 net, my ISP does not yet support it). Disabled ipv6 in the connection settings and it works now. Interesting, no such problem on the Win Vista machine, even though it is in the same network...

Anyways, thanks for the tips everyone!

Hello all
Taking my first tentative steps into the game now! :)

A couple of things, my view seems to be somehow zoomed in a bit. For example on the left of the screen all I can see is 'diction' of 'Jurisdiction'.
I've tried adjusting the fov and that doesn't help much.
Any ideas folks???
Secondly, I can't work out how to headlook using my x52 (which I have selected as the controller in the menu). Because of this I can't access the side panels with the joystick. How do I look around??

Any help most appreciated! :)

Interesting! I've been playing for a couple of hours now on my 16:10 monitor at 1920x1200 and I noticed that everything seems slightly zoomed in. For example only 'diction' of the word 'Jurisdiction' is visible on the left.

I mentioned this elsewhere and was quickly told it was the old 16:10 problem, I've switched to 16:9 and that at least get the full view on screen, but as it's the wrong aspect ratio for my monitor everything becomes slightly narrow.

Anyway... Riedquat, I just wondered if you'd been getting this issue but somehow hadn't noticed?

Yeah I do have a bit of a problem with 16:10 at 1920x1200.
It seems everything is a bit zoomed in.
I followed the link you gave but couldn't submit a ticket as that seems to be for Alphas only. Beta's can only submit tickets for 1.1 if it's to do with installation etc.
So how can I officially report this problem?

That's a weird place to be when you need to submit a ticket about the ticket submission system.

I'm struggling with multiple controllers not being considered separate devices, Y-axis on the joystick is Y-axis on my rudder pedals. They may both be called Y-axis but they are different yet I can't use them both independently :(

This may be covered in the joystick discussion mentioned in this topic's initial post but I get an error saying I can't access that part of the forum? Is it secret to Alpha members only?

I'm in a similar boat. I've got a Saitek X45 stick and throttle and a set of Saitek rudder pedals that are all calibrated correctly but when I run the and try the first scenario, my ship just spins and spins and spins (counter clockwise in a constant roll). Can't for the life of me figure out how to stop the spin.

Same effect if I swap to a Logitech Wingman Extreme 3d.

I'm also locked out of the Joystick thread. Must only be available to Alpha-level backers?

V1.2 only supports ONE input (i.e. joystick/pedals/etc) device. If you have a joystick and pedals, it won't work. Unplug the pedals, and you'll be ok with just the stick.

Multiple device support wasn't added until later.

The upshot of this is that if you use pedals + joy, it won't work, but joystick on its own will. Also, for joysticks with split throttles, they don't tend to work, or joysticks where the throttle quadrant is a separate device.

Use the 1, 2 and 3 keys to use the side panels. 1 = left, 3 = right, 2 = center cockpit.

How much MB have Alpha 1.1 ??

In which directory to files save ?

Launcher catalog have 14 MB only, It is good ??

Files launcher engraved me where I wanted to, but the files which later I drew not know where divisions.
