Release Trade Computer Extension Mk.II

woah, dude, that's so 2015....
;)

2012 I'll think you'll find. :p

I like this quote inparticular.

"carpe diem" for stupid people

dude 1: "i'm gonna go smoke poison ivy and see if my lungs get a rash. yolo!

dude 2: "why doesn't he just say carpe diem? it sounds way better.

dude 3: "stupid people don't speak latin. thats why they say yolo"

BACK ON TOPIC:

Version 1.0 coming at the weekend. lovely.

Not clearly sure about that. I will make some testing first. I think, reimporting the old Mk.I with the V1.0 release is my suggestion, because there are some issues you all have found and could produce irrational results.
When releasing the V1.0 this weekend, all user with database issues should note, if their databases are a V1.0 import or not.

that's implying we won't see another version between?
so i can stop hammering F5 til the weekend?
:D

i think when it's just some small errors i can fix that by hand or delete the entries via tce.

found another one when adding a stored location, perhaps related?

visits/last visit should be the other way around, no?

edit:
after that, TCE seems to have lost my act. position, see:

Had a little problem this evening Eventure.

I was tootling through a few unknown star systems not recording anything and I heard this nasty "ding" and sure enough TCE had had an error :(

Did you pressed any keyboad shortcut? The second error come from the netlogfile. Please send it to me, otherwise a restart of ED should fix the problem.

Apologies now if this has been reported before:

I've gone to a new star system, no stations present, just a load of planets.
I would like to add the star system as explored.

When I goto stars, there are no co-ordinates listed for the star system, and I don't get the save button to save the star type.
When I look at Navigation, through Star Systems the co-ordinates are present, so why is one screen showing them and not the other?

If I'm to add a new star system to the database how do I achieve this please?

INCONSISTENCY WITH TRADE PROFIT: PLUS IT'S TOTALLY WRONG

ISSUE 1:

Showing profits for station at and other PLANETARY OUTPOST on the same planet.

So I selected the other PLANETARY PORT as my next destination and selected TRADE PANEL to see what I expected.

TRADE PROFITS incorrect and inconsistent between panels.

Both stations data is fairly current as in last few days.

Add the coordinates.

  1. Go to the GALAXY MAP
  2. Paste in SOL using CTRL-Z
  3. Type in the coordinates and PRESS ENTER.
  4. Don't go to the second coordinate without pressing ENTER.
  5. REPEAT STEP 2 with next system name until done.
  6. SAVE will then show

Thanks for responding, which screen do I put the co-ordinates in? Can't do it in Database Stars window.#
Sorry bAdbUd, done the lookup in the Galaxy map, where do I see the co-ordinates, I don't see them on any of the tabs?

That is correct. The panel itself does not appear when I select database / stars. It worked fine for the first two days of my journey but yesterday after I applied the updates; installer 0.9.9.7 and update 0.9.9.9 the panel to enter new star data no longer appears.
Also the credits panel when selected appears briefly but then disappears leaving only the top row of buttons visible.

Hi Eventure. Sorry but the problem still exists. I deleted the panels.db and replaced it with panels.tdm and then renamed it as suggested but the problem still exists. I also reinstalled TCE 0.9.9.7 and update 0.9.9.9 but that makes no difference. When I enter a new system the System Summary panel does not appear and when I select Database / Stars the Star entry panel does not appear.
.
edit - I reinstalled TCE and then tried to import the old MK II database but the problem still existed so I deleted TCE again and reinstalled but then used my old MK I database and now everything works as it should.

ISSUE:

INCONSISTENCY WITH LAST UPDATE DATA.

I believe I may have reported this before, but this is slightly different.

LAST DATE on STAR SYSTEMS TAB IS NO data.

INCONSISTENT_VISITED_DISPLAY_1.png

But LAST UPDATE in NAVIGATION TAB is recent.

INCONSISTENT_VISITED_DISPLAY_3.png

The other station in the same system shows the correct LAST date. Both were updated on the same day

SAME DB AS PREVIOUSLY POSTED.

Problem adding new Ware

I seem to think that bAdbUd posted a similar problem to this but do not recall seeing a response.

When trying to add a new Ware I get this
Ware error.jpg
during the save process.

Continuing with the save appears to record it in the list ('Test Ware' marked)
Ware example.jpg
but does not update the public_Goods table (although the public_MarketPrices table is updated with the price).

Consequently when restarting TCE the Ware is not there.

I keep getting this if I start TCE, then hit 'play' in ED launcher. Obviously, it's easy to alt tab back out of ED and re-start TCE. But, did you intend for having to start ED, alt tab out, then start TCE, or is the start order not supposed to matter?

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Did you pressed any keyboad shortcut? The second error come from the netlogfile. Please send it to me, otherwise a restart of ED should fix the problem.

No keyboard shortcut pressed. I was just flying across several unknown star systems without doing anything to TCE except having the header displayed on screen. The Error 13 Line 28 pic I displayed occurred twice on re-starting TCE then TCE opened fine. Netlogs sent by email. Please note I continued playing ED for quite a time after the error occurred without TCE running so the offending star system may be buried deep in the netlog file.

If I open TCE now, I get the same error twice but for a different entries. Closing and re-opening TCE then gives the same 2 errors again.

USUAL DB'S

Morning buddy,
sorry to tell you, but there's nothing wrong at all in those screenies, lemme explain, top to bottom:

ISSUE 1
1: what we're seeing here is not profit, but discount. both planetary ports sell thorium below average, slightly differing
remember: navigation:markets is NOT the trade panel. it shows you which ware has the most discount comp. to gal. average.

2: absolutely correct, nothing to trade between these ports

ISSUE 2
1: this screen tells me the most discounted ware is beryllium, -270 to gal. average. so this outpost is bad for trading in general.

2: this screen advises me to trade gold to maxwell hub in baghuti, last update was on the 17th of jan., so could be slightly different now.

3: this screen has nothing to do with 1 or 2, cause you're at mondeh holdings...?

So, no errors to see here...?

lol, ninja'd eventure by a couple seconds... :D
