VR in ED are a great way to experience the game, what VR do you consider to buy?

As a training method that wont work - it's transparent ;P. Probably a higher res equivalent to chaperone.

Not that it's required though - anyone capable to successfully perform a Romberg test should be able to type, drink etc... within 2-3 hours of using a HMD. If it's not possible I'd advise to see a neurologist to get checked for sensory ataxia.

It's a bit of a bête noire to me. Probably read too many comments by non-VR users on how you can't do this and that when wearing a HMD.

It's always a tad like reading an adamant statement on how it's absolutely impossible to breathe with your mouth shut made by people who never even tried to breathe through their nose for their entire life.

Anyway - this is leading OT. I don't need chaperone to find my keyboard but it opens up possibilities for an interesting middle ground between VR & AR.

Pragmatic approach:
Ordered a Oculus CV1 with delivery date March/April 2016. As I will use this probably most for Elite Dangerous my prior usage of the VR is at my desk (and not walking around). If the HTC Vive presentation (quality & price) will be a huge positive surprise end of February, I will order the HTC Vive instead. Probably I could still cancel the Oculus order and if not, sell the Oculus CV1 for a much higher price on Ebay.

You can cancel CV1 at any time before shipping.

There will be no positive surprise with Vive pricing.

Note: I have zero experience with VR, hence this tread.

However I really want to get a pair someday. I tested the OR and the VIVE, the VIVE seam more complete, and even though I didn't test the set with a camera I like the idea that i can see the real world without taking my goggles off :D

I like that camera on the Vive.
