Harry Potter and all that magic stuff is just so old hat. What your son needs is a bit of exposure to space exploration...
And as for the triple moniter/Oculus Rift question, unless you're going to go for a full simpit setup, I'd say OR without a doubt. Doing a slow flyby of an Anaconda* whilst craning your neck to gawp at it is an unparalleled experience IMO.

Funny enough he only started watching the Potter stuff 2 yrs ago and got into it quickly ...hes 10 now and likes watching films from start go finish now
As for the OR , I'm swaying more to the later as like you said there is a feeling of actually being in the cockpit/seat , but was a little worried regarding resolution and sickness issues to jump in this early in prototype stage........but saying that I have a feeling the game and rift put together if they get it right would be epic

obviously you haven't experienced male bonding at a race track that involves a L OT of beer ......Just to get one thing straight, there was no Brokeback Mountain episodes to my knowledge that happened or while I was in a conscious state lol
