Can confirm that in about 10-15 min will be there. If Cmdr "Ancient" is around, it will be my pleasure to investigate for you.

I'm there now :p (turns out I was already parked only two jumps away)

Not seeing any white blobs. In Horizons it doesn't even look like the same planet though :/

Also I forgot, I'm in solo mode. I'm headed to the surface though, when I'm down I'll switch to open.

cant see what he sees

Boo ;)

It seems that something stripped something off the surface, its almost burned soil. I wish I could take soil samples.
The patterns are not natural. I can drive from strip to strip in my SRV and find nothing out of the ordinary.
So what happened here? Is it the remains of some ancient battle. Some kind of alien farm field? The remains of an alien strip mining field?
I dont know.
I will continue to explore this field until I find something or some material.
Did any other commander stumble across something like this?
This is why I love exploring. To find the unknown.
"To go where no man has gone before."

Is it still there after logging out and back in again?

Maybe the Conda is linked to the barnacles. It had Jumponium Mats in its cargoholds. Maybe it was heading to a "near" destination only reachable with Jumponium?

A valid theory. So what's the jump range of a Conda with jumponium? That gives an initial search radius, of course multiple jumps would extend that, but perhaps there are other clues to be found that will give us pointers.

Unarmed Exploraconda can jump 80-82 LY with jumponium, depending on the loadout.

Excellent, next step would be to see if anyone is near you who could check it out? I'm on my way back to the bubble from the other side of it, so a long way away.

I am 8167.75LY away from SOL. I doubt if theirs anyone out this far. But who knows. I am about 2000LY south of the Monkey Head Nebula.

On that note, someone told me that after the barnacles were discovered, or around that time, there were regions of the Pleiades nebula and Barnard's Loop that were "Unknown Permit Requirred", and once some of these events started to pan out, they were suddenly unlocked. Can anyone confirm this? And what systems or general areas were locked? That to me sounds like a huge hint. I know that there is the "stellar forge" that randomly generates stars to fill in blank spaces of astronomical data, but could dev work not be on the stars themselves but what's contained in them?

Here are some systems, some in nebulae, that required permits in 2014-2015:
